INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS LOCATING THE STOVE • Install the stove as close to the chimney as po ssible. • Many configuration are possible, the most frequent are illustrate d in figure s 1,2 and 3. • Respect clearances indicated on page 1. T hey have been tested according to approvals.
CHIMNEY INFORMATIONS • Before the hook up of the stove, check if the ch imney is in good condition and that the quality of the flue will allow a sufficient draught. For a good combustion, refer to the techni cal data of the stove to know the minimum draught required.
CONNECTING THE STO VE TO THE CHIMNEY • The gases are vented from he ba ck of the unit. Th e female part of the black pipe conn ector has to be installed toward the flue con necto r of the stove. Secure all conne ctions with the (3) self taping screws, with 120 o distance between each of them.
LEVELING THE UNIT • Now that the stove is in place an d properly hooked up to the chimney, you have to adjust the level on the burner. • Put the level in the middle of the burner paralleled to the door. (Figure 9A). Screw or unscrew the adjustable legs to level the burner with a 7/16" key.
CONNECTING STOVE TO OIL TANK • Make sure that the tank outlet is 12" higher than the inlet of the carburetor. (Gravity fed) • Use only caper piping to connect tank t o stove. • Make sure that there is a small slop e on t he connection from the tank toward the stove.
ADJUSTING THE DRAUGHT • Your stove operated with natural drau ght, creat ed by the ascension of combu stion gases in the chimney. This movement creates a si phon effect in the stove and forces ambient air to go in the burner by the holes in its surround.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS COMBUSTIBLE • Your stove has been de sign to work with oil #1 or #2. DO NOT USE GASOLINE, CRANK CASE OIL OR ANY OIL CONTAINING GASO LINE. Drolet Stoves & Firepl aces declines all responsibility regarding damage cause by using oth er combustibles.
LIGHTING (CONT’D) • Place the flow regulating handl e on the "1" posit ion, as soon as the oil enters the burner return to "0" position. • Open the door a nd pore into the burn er 2 to 3 once (75 ml) of lighting gel or wood alcohol.
TURNING THE STOVE OFF • Set the flow regulating handle to position 0. • If you plan to keep the stove off for a long while, it is recomm ended to disarm the valve’s lever and close the tap on the pipe between the st ove and your oil tank. (See TOP VIEW above).
