2 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Genera l Inst ruct ions – T o en sure corre ct oper ation, user h as t o read this i nstruc tion manua l to ma ke himself familiar wit h the h andling of the Brush Cutter/String trimmer . U sers insufficiently informed will risk danger to themselves as w ell as others due to improper handling.
3 Start t he Brush Cutte r/Str ing trim mer only in ac corda nce with the ins truct ions. Do not use any other methods for star ting the engine! – Use the Brush Cut ter/Strin g trimmer and the tools only for such applications as specified. – Only start the Brush Cutter/Str ing trimmer engine, af ter the enti re as sembly is done.
4 Meth od of ope ratio n – Only use the Brush cutter/String trimmer in good light and visibility . During the winte r seaso n beware of slippery o r wet a reas, i ce a nd snow (r isk of slipping). Always ensure a safe footing. – Never cut above waist height.

8 MOUNTING OF HANDLE CAUTION: Before doing any wor k on the brush cutter , al ways stop the engine and pull the s park plug connector off th e spark plug. Always wear protective gloves! C AU T IO N : S tart t he brush cutt er on ly after havi ng as sembl ed it co mpletel y .
9 T o mee t th e applic able saf ety prov isions, only the too l/ protector combinations as i ndicated i n the table must be used. Be sure to us e gen uine DO LMAR cu tter bl ades or nylon cutting h ead. – The c utter blade mu st be w ell po lished, free of cracks or break age.
10 T urn the mach ine up side down , and you can replace the cutte r blade easi ly . For MS-250.4, MS-25 1.4 – Insert the hex wrench through the hole in the gear c ase and rotate the receiver washer (3) until it i s locked wi th the hex wrench.
11 Inspection and Refill of Engine Oil – Perform the follow ing procedure, with the e ngine cooled down. – While keeping the engine level, remove the oil gauge, and confir m that the oil is filled within the upper and lower limit marks .
12 ( 1 ) Keep t he engine level, and detach the oil gauge. ( 2 ) Fill oil up to the edge of the oil refill port. (Refer to Fig.2 o f the preceding page). Feed oil wit h the lubri cant refil l c ontainer . ( 3 ) Secu rely tighten the o il gauge. Insuffici ent tighteni ng may cause oil leakage.
13 CORRECT HANDLING OF MA CHINE Attachment of shoulder strap – Adjust th e strap lengt h so that the cutt er blad e will be kept paral lel with the ground. Detachment For MS-251.4 – In an emer gency , push the notc hes (1) at both sides, and you can de tach the machine from you.
14 For machine with U Handle or Loop Ha ndle 1 ) Set the I-O switch (1) to OPE RA TION. 2 ) Choke lever Close the c hoke lever . Choke openi ng: – Full closing in cold or when the engin e is cold. – Full or half o penin g in res tart ju st af ter s top of o peratio n.
15 B: Startu p after wa rm-up operati on 1 ) Push the primer pump repeatedly . 2 ) Keep the throttle lever at the idling position. 3 ) Pull the recoil starter strongl y . 4 ) If it is difficult to start the engi ne, open the thr ottle by abo ut 1/3. Pay atte ntion to the cutte r bla de which may rotat e.
16 NYLON C UTTING HEAD The nylon cutting head is a dual string trimmer head c apable of both automatic and bump & feed mechanisms. The nylo n cutting head wil l auto matically fee d out the prope r leng th of nylon cord by the changes in cen trifugal force caused by increasin g or decreasing rpms.
17 REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE OIL Deterior ated e ngine oil will shorten the life of the slidi ng and rotatin g parts t o a great extent. Be sure to c heck t he perio d and quanti ty of replacement. A TTENTIO N : In gen eral, the engine main unit and engine oil still remain hot j ust after the engine is stopped.
18 5 ) Keep the eng ine level, and feed new oil up to the edge of the oil refill port. In refill, use a lubri cant r efill container . 6 ) After re fill, sec urely tight en the oil g auge. Ins uffici ent t ightening of the o il gauge will lead to oil leakage.
19 CLEANING OF FUEL FIL TER W ARNING: INFLAM MABLES STRICTL Y PROHIBITED Interval of Clean ing an d Inspect ion: Month ly (every 50 opera ting h ours) Suctio n head in th e fuel ta nk – The fu el fill er (1 ) of the sucti on h ead i s use d to fill er th e fu el requ ired by the carburetor.
20 STORA GE Drain fuel Humidity Fault location W AR NIN G: Whe n draining the fue l, be sure to stop the e ngine and confirm that the engine cools down. Just after stoppi ng the engine, it may st ill hot with p ossibilit y of burns , inflamm ability and fi re.
21 *1 Perform initial replacement after 20 h operation. *2 For the 200 op erating ho ur inspec tion, req uest Aut horized Servic e Agent or a machine sh op. *3 After em ptyin g the fue l tank, cont inue to run the engi ne an d drai n fuel in the carbur etor .

23 EMISSION COMPLIANCE PERIOD For handheld engines : The Emissions Compliance Period referred to on the Emissions Compliance label indicates the number of operating hours for which the engine has been shown to meet Federal emission requirements. Category C=50 hours, B=125 hours, and A=300 hours.

39 Utiliser uniquement les combinaisons outil/dispositif de protection mentionn é es dans le tableau pour respecter les prescriptions de s é curit é demand é es. Utiliser seulement une lame de coupe ou une t ê te de coupe à fil DOLMAR. – La lame de coupe doit ê tre bien plie, exempte de fissures ou de cassures.
40 Retourner la machine afin de pouvoir placer facilement la lame de coupe ou la t ê te de coupe. Pour MS-250.4, MS-251.4 – Ins é rer la cl é hexagonale dans le trou du carter de la bo î te de v.
41 CONTROLE ET RAVITAILLEMENT DE L’HUILE MOTEUR – Faire la m é thode suivante apr è s avoir v é rifi é que le moteur a refroidi. – Maintenir le moteur en position et en lever, la jauge d ’ huile afin de v é rifier que le niveau est situe entre les rep è res inf é rieur et sup é rieur.
42 (1) Tenir moteur de niveau, et d é poser la jauge d ’ huile. (2) Mettre de l ’ huile jusqu ’ au bout de l ’ orifice de ravitaillement. (Se r é f é rer à la figure de la page pr é c é dante.) Mettre de l ’ huile a l ’ aide r é cipient de ravitaillement en lubrifiant.
43 㩷 (1) A ttache du harnais Fixation du harnais: – Ajuster la longueur du harnais de sorte que la lame du coupe ou la t ê te de coupe reste parall è le au sol. Retrait Pour MS-251.4 – En cas d'urgence, poussez les entailles (1) sur les deux c ô t é s, et vous pouvez d é tacher la machine de vous.
44 Pour les machines à poign é e en U ou en Boucle 1) Mettre l ’ interrupteur I-O (1) sur la position “ OPERATION ” . 2) Fermer le levier de r é glage. Ouvrir le levier de r é glage : – Fermer le levier starter lors d ’ un d é marrage à froid.
45 B: Démarrage après réchauffage 1) Pousser la pompe d ’ amor ç age à plusieurs reprises. 2) Tenir le levier d ’ acc é l é rateur au ralenti. 3) Tirer le c â ble de d é marrage fortement. 4) S ’ il est difficile de d é marrer le moteur, ouvrir le levier d ’ acc é l é rateur par un tier.
46 T ê te de coupe à fil en nylon La t ê te de coupe à fil en nylon est une t ê te à doubie fil capable d'assurer automatiquement les op é rations de s é lection de longueur de fil.
47 – Aligner la saillie de la partie inf é rieure du couvercle sur les rainures des oeillets. Pousser alors avec force le couvercle sur le carter afin de le bloquer.
48 3) Mettre un chiffon ou papier aux alentours de l ’ orifice de ravitaillement. 4) D é poser la jauge d ’ huile, et é vacuer l ’ huile en inclinant le bloc vers l ’ orifice de ravitaillement.
49 0.7mm-0.8mm (0.028 ” -0.032 ” ) CONT Ô LE DE LA BOUGIE D'ALLUMAGE – Utiliser uniquement la cl é universelle fournie pour retirer ou monter la bougie d'allumage. – L'espacement entre les deux é lectrodes de la bougie d'allumage devrait ê tre de 0,7 - 0,8mm (0,028" - 0,032").
50 AVERTISSEMENT: Lors de décharger le ca rburant, prendr e garde à arrêter l e moteur et confirmer que le moteur se refroidit. 㩷 Justement apr è s l ’ arr ê t du moteur, il peut rester chaud, pouvant provoquer des br û lures, ignition et incendie.

63 INSPECCI Ó N Y REABASTE CIMIENTO DE ACEITE DE MOTOR – Haga lo siguiente con el motor fr í o. – Manteniendo el motor nivelado, saque la bayoneta de nivel d e aceite y confirme que el nivel del aceite est á e ntre las marcas de l í mite inferior y superior .
64 ( 1 ) Colo que el motor en posici ó n nivela da y sa que la bayoneta de nivel de aceite. ( 2 ) Eche aceite hasta el borde del orificio de reabasteci miento. (Consulte la Fig. 2 de la p á gina anterior .) Suministre el aceite usando la botella de reabastecimiento de lubricante.

67 B: Arranca r despu é s de la operac i ó n de calen tamiento 1 ) Presione la bomba cebadora repetidamente. 2 ) Mantenga la palanca de co ntrol en la posici ó n d e marcha en vac í o. 3 ) Tire de l tir ador con fu erza. 4 ) Si fuera dificil arrancar el m otor , abra el ace lerador 1/3 ap roximadamente .
68 CABEZAL DE NYL ON El cabezal de Nylon es un c abezal dua l de cuerd a que puede tr abajar autom á ticamente y con mecanismo de tope y ava nce. El cabezal se alimentar á autom á ticamente con la longitud adecuada de cuerda seg ú n los c ambi os de f uerza ce ntr ifug a ca usado por un aume nto o disminusi ó n de las revolucione s.
69 – Posicionar los salie ntes del in terior de l a tapa sobre las r anuras de l os orificios. Presionar la tapa firmem ente so bre la caja para a segurarl a.
70 5 ) Coloque el motor en p osici ó n nivel ado y eche el aceite nuevo hasta que su nivel llegue al borde del orif icio de reabastecimiento. Durante esta operaci ó n, utilic e una botella de reab astecimiento de lubri cante. 6 ) Despu é s de echar el aceite, apr iete firmemente la bayoneta de nive l.
