Is there an Ethernet switch (or hub) connected to one of the E THERNET or LAN ports on the router or gateway? • Y es.
Page 5 Inst allation and Setup Use these instructions to add an Ethe rnet switch to the home network to create additional Ethernet ports, to connect the satellite receiver to the home network, an d to setup the receiver on ce it is connected to the home network.
Page 6 On the existing route r or ga teway , disc onnect the Ethernet cable for an existing piece of equipment connected t o an E THERNET (or LAN) port. This equipment w ill be connected to the Ethernet switch in step 2, below . Note : Do not disconnect the c able connected to the route r or ga teway port labeled B ROAD BAND , I NTERNET , or WA N .

Page 8 Connecting the Satellite Receiver Us ing a HomePlug-to-Ethernet Adapter Refer to Diagrams 5 and 6 and the instructions below t o connect the satellite receiver to the router , gateway , or Ethernet switch using a HomePlug-to-Eth ernet Adapter .
Page 9 One HomePlug-to-Ethernet adapter must be obtained for use at the location of the router , gateway , or Ethernet switch. One adapter s upports up to 15 receivers. The V iP-series of DISH Network receivers include HomePlug 1.0 su pport. HomePlug T urbo adapte rs can also be used.
Page 10 Setting up the Receiver Once the receiver has been connected to the home network, use these steps to set up and verify the receiver ’ s Internet connection.
Page 11 V erify the receiver can successfully c onnect to DISH Network by pressing MENU on the remote control, selecting System Setup , then Diagnostics . Select Connection to test the Internet connection. The Connection option also tests the phone line, if connected.
Page 12 Using DishONLINE DishONLINE allows you to download mo vies and othe r programs to the V iP622 DVR and V iP722 DVR satellite receiver using your br oadband Internet connection. Access DishONLINE by pressing the DVR button on the DISH Network remo te control.
Page 13 Download List Download List is accessed fro m the My Rentals menu, and allows you to view all the pr ograms scheduled to download (queued), adjust the order in which programs will be downloaded, and delete schedul ed downloads.

Page 16 HomePlug Troubleshooting 1. Ensure the HomePlug-to-E thernet adapter is plugged firmly in to th e electrical outlet. The adapter should not be plugged into a GFI electrical outlet. 2. V erify the HomePlug-to-Ethernet adapte r is not plugged into a switched outlet.
