10 © 1999 Directed Electr onics , Inc . Multi-Level Security Armin g allows you to select which of th e sys- tem's inputs or sensors will be active an d which will be bypassed when th e system is armed.
11 © 1999 Directed Electr onics , Inc . Y our system can be armed while drivin g the vehicle! Simply pr ess while the vehi cle is running. The sir en will chirp once to indi- cate that the security system is arm ed, and th en once mor e to indi cate that the igniti on is on.

This feature allows you to silence an d reset the security system wh en it is trigger ed, without having to disarm th e system. High Security Rearm is a featur e that protects your vehicle in th e event that th e security system is inadvertently disarm ed.

14 © 1999 Directed Electr onics , Inc . T o enter or exit V alet ® Mode : 1. T urn the igniti on on. 2. T urn the igniti on off. 3. Press an d release the V alet ® switch within 10 seconds . The status LED will li ght steadily to indi cate that you have entered V alet ® Mode an d will turn off when you have e xited Valet ® Mode.
15 © 1999 Directed Electr onics , Inc . IMPORT ANT! (1) Never rem otely start the vehicle with the vehi cle in gea r , and (2) N ever rem otely start the vehicle with the k ey in the ignition . Pressin g and at the same tim e will begin the r emote start sequence .

Y ou may want to en ter the vehicle an d drive it with out shutting o ff the motor . It is possible to sh ut d own the rem ote start and drive th e vehicle without sh utting down th e motor .

When ever the vehicle is r emote started, advan ced anti-grind cir cuit- ry will preven t the starter from en gaging, even if the k ey is turned to the start positi on. This prevents d amage to th e starter motor if the k ey is turned to the start positi on during r emote start operati on.

For e xample , if your vehicle has an interi or light e xit delay and you arm your security system bef ore the in terior ligh t turns off, you m ay hear a second Bypass N otification chirp.
