4 Configuring the Router Note: Prior to connecting the router, be sure to po wer off your computer, DSL/Cable modem, and the router. Step 1 Connect one end of a network cable to the WAN port of the router and connect the other end of the cable to the DSL/Cable mode m.
5 Step 4 Plug the power adapter to the router and con nect it to an electrical outlet. Step 5 Power on your computer. Step 6 Check LEDs of the router: make sure Status, WAN , W.LAN , and the LAN port that the computer is con nected to are ON. If one or more LEDs are not on, please refer to Section 4 Trouble sho oting.
6 Step 7 Insert the Setup CD into CD-ROM drive. Step 8 When the autorun menu pops up, click EZ Setup Wizard..
7 Note: If the autorun menu does not sho w up on the screen, please go to Computer Æ CDROM drive Æ Wizard folder, and execute “ EZWizard.exe ”. Windows 7 and Vista users: an AutoPlay windo w pops up on screen, please make sure you give permi ssion to run the setup program by clicking Autorun.
8 Step 10 Click on Wizard . Step 11 Please make sure your com put er is connected to the one of the four LAN ports of the router, and your modem is connected to the WAN port of the router.
9 Step 12 The default wireless encryption setting is disabled. It is sugge sted to select WPA2-PS K for best wireless security. Step 13 Configure the SSID (wireless network name, i.e. Airlink101), Channel, Security and Key. It is suggested to select WPA2-PSK for best wireless security.
10 Step 14 Click Next and the wizard will detect y our WAN settings, or you can select your WAN type manually by chec king “Let me sele ct WAN service by myself”. Step 15 Enter the settings based on your WAN se rvice type. Cable (Dynamic IP) If you are using cable Internet service, your WAN type is “Dyn amic IP”.
11 DSL (PPPoE or Dynamic IP) For DSL users, your WAN type is either PPPoE or Dynamic IP. You can try both types and determine whi ch on e wo rks for you. For PPPoE settings, please enter the username and passw ord provided by your ISP (Internet Se rvice Provider).
12 Step 16 Verify the settings you have configured. Click Next to save the settings and reboot the router. This will t ake about 30 seconds. Step 17 Click Next to test the Internet Connect ion, or you can ignore the test, just open the Internet browser an d verify if you are conne cted to the Internet.
13 If you cannot connect to the Internet, please go to Section 4, Troubleshooting . Step 18 After the WAN service test completed, click Fin ish . The wizard will open the web configuration page for the router automatically unless you uncheck the checkbox bel ow “Open the default web browser to acce ss the advanced configuration”.

15 Connect to the Router Wirelessly You must configure your wirele ss computer in order to establi sh a wireless connection to the router. In this section, you can find t he instructions of how to connect to the router wirelessly with your Windows 7 computer.
16 Step 2 Enter the key you configured in Step 13 if you have enabled the wireless security, then click OK . The wireless connection sh ould b e now established.
17 Troubleshooting A. Diagnosing problems from LED indicators: 1. If the WAN LED is off, but Status LED is on, please c heck if the modem is powered on, and the network cable from the modem is plugg ed into the WAN port of the router. 2. If the Wireless LED is off, but Status LED is on, the wireles s function might be turned off.
18 Step 4 Turn on the computer. C. Your wireless adapter is not conne cted to the Router: 1. Please make sure your wireless adapter is connected the Router with the correct security key you configured at Step 13 . 2. Please make sure your wireless adapter supports the se curity mod e (WPA2-PSK/AES) you configured for the Router at Step 13 .
