Connect the FM an tenna Dipole Antenna 1) The dipole antenna pr ovides the best reception of the three antennas when pr operly positioned. The dipole an - tenna consists of an acti ve secti on and a lead-i n sectio n (see illustration on previous page).
-3- T elescoping W hip Ant enna The telescoping whip ant enna provides good r eception and can be easily adjusted. With adjustment factored in, it may perform the best of the three antennas. Once properly installed, the telescoping whip ant enna will remain at an y position you place it.
-4- W ire An tenna 1) If all the desired FM stations ha ve strong sig nal strength, the wire antenna can be used . It is the easiest of the three antennas to install and conc eal. 2) Connect the wire antenna to the SoundW orks R adio 820HD by pushing the connector plug onto the F M an - tenna input.

-6- Other Antenna Options The FM an tennas and the AM antenna pr ovided with the SoundW orks Radio 820HD will work well in most locations that get adequate F M and AM reception on c onven tional radio receiv ers. But there ma y an FM or AM sta tion of interest wher e reception is marg inal.
A typical “rabbit ear” st yle antenna, with “F” connector and User-Supplied Screw On to Push On adapter . “Rabbit Ears” fully extended. This conguration will provide the best reception when rotated or repositioned for peak signal strength on a specic station.
-8- Additional An tenna Options I f you live mor e than 20 miles from an F M transmitter of interest and y ou live in a wood fr ame building, consider placing or mounting an F M antenna in the top of the build - ing (attic or crawl space). Run additional c oax lead-in wire to the radio .
