Installation 2 Series N5700 User’s Guide 29 Local Sensing Remote Sensing One of the units operates as a ma ster and the remaining units are slaves. The slave units operate as controlled current sources following the master output current .
2 Installation 30 Series N5700 User’s Guide Setting up the Slave Units Set the rear panel setup switch SW1 p osition 2 to it’s up position. Connect J1 pin 10 (Current Program) of the slave unit to J1 pin 25 (Parallel) of the master unit. Also c onnect a short between J1 pin 8 and J1 pin 12.
Installation 2 Series N5700 User’s Guide 31 It is recommende d that diodes be connected in para llel with each output to prevent reverse voltage duri ng start up sequence or in case one unit shuts down. E ach diode sh ould be rated to a t least the rated output voltage and output current of th e power supply.
