3 IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Always follow basic safety precautions when using your telephone equipment to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury . 1. Read and understand all instructions in the Owner’s Instruction Manual. 2. Read all warnings and follow all instructions marked on the product.
4 TELEPHONE PART IDENTIFICATION 1. Liquid Crystal Displa y - Displa ys the phone number , date and time and other information. 2. One- T ouch Memories - Phone numbers can be stored for speed dialing. 3. Call Back a. When reviewing Caller ID or phone book records, press to dial the sa v ed number .
5 8. A UT O RD (A uto R edial/Change Ring T one) a. Press to auto redial the last dialed number continuously until the phone is answered. b. Press and hold for 3 seconds to change ring tone. 9. Redial/Pause a. Press repeatedly while on hook to review dialed numbers.
6 INSTALLATION Batteries 1. Open the battery compartment. 2. Install 4 AA batteries. Notes: The batteries are only necessary for the clock function. They should be replaced every 6 months. Replace all 4 batteries. Observe the polarity when installing batteries.
7 MESSAGE WAITING SETUP The 8782 Message W aiting switch (see Item 18 for location) provides 4 positions for different types of message waiting compatibility with a wide variety of message waiting sources. See the descriptions below to choose the switch position for your type of Message W aiting.
8 6. Set the Ring Melodies – The 8782 offers a choice of 16 different ring melodies. After setting the prefix code, press CLID to select the desired melody (1-16) and press DEL/ SET to confirm. 7. Set the Ring Volume - The 8782 offers a choice of 8 different ring v olumes.
9 OPERATION TELEPHONE 1. Make a Call - Pick up the handset or press to get dial tone and dial the number . When the called part y answers, the L CD will time the call automatically . 2. Answer a Call - Pick up the handset or press to answer a call. 3.
10 9. Pause - Press REDIAL/PAUSE to insert a pause in a speed dial number . 10. Redial a. Last Number – Go off hook. Press REDIAL/PAUSE and the last number dialed will be dialed out. b. Review – While on-hook press REDIAL/PAUSE repeatedly to review the last 16 dialed numbers.

12 MAINTENANCE INFORMATION Treat your telephone with care for trouble-free performance. Avoid dropping the handset. Carefully place the handset on-hook after use. Avoid putting near heating appliances and devices that generate electrical noise (for example, motors and florescent lamps).

16 LIMITED WARRANTY If you purchased this product new in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, CORTELCO warrants it against defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase. This warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties.
