11 – ENGLISH █ INS T ALLA TION S TEPS Installation of your ClearSounds® CSC1000 Amplified Fr eedom Phone™ with Full ClearDigital™ P ower is easy . There ar e some basic steps you need to take when you set-up your phone for the first time. 1. Check par ts list 2.
12 – ENGLISH potential inter f erence, the phone should not be located near elec tr onic equipment , such as personal computers, television or microw ave ovens. Begin by removing the clear plastic Caller ID pr otec tive tab. This film tab is only f or display and to protec t your Caller ID display during shipping.
13 – ENGLISH 1. Slide the handset hanger tab out and reverse its position (rotate it 180 degr ees). Slide it back into place so that the hook points up (see Diagr am 6) . This will keep the handset from f alling out of the cr adle when it is mounted on the wall.
14 – ENGLISH 6. Holding the phone slightly above the mounting screws on the wall jack, push the phone against the mounting screws so they ar e hooked into upper and lower k eyhole slots on the back of the phone. Slowly slide the phone down until it snaps into place (see Diagr am 8) .
15 – ENGLISH provides up to 15 dB of volume bef ore the Amplify key is ac tiv ated. Once the Amplify k ey ac tivated, the phone will provide up to 55 dB of amplification and tone adjustment . Please Note: The Amplify key contr ols both the loudness & tone frequency of the handset .
16 – ENGLISH █ Ringer Setting Y ou can adjust the ringer of your phone as high as +95 dB. There ar e 2 methods to set this featur e. Method 1 (V olume Only) : By adjusting volume on the right side of the phone In standby mode, you can adjust the ringer volume by using the V olume Control V- or V+ on the right side of the phone.
17 – ENGLISH from Standar d, Wilhelm T el, Small world, P r elude, Love is blue, Ashita, NO4, NO5, NO1, NO2, Fuga. Each time you press the Change soft k ey , the phone rings with the selec ted ring tone. P ress the Save soft key or pr ess ▼ to set the VIP tone.
18 – ENGLISH █ Using your Visual Indicator The red flashing visual indicator on the base will flash to alert you to new calls received or if you have a voice mail message waiting fr om your ser vice pr ovider . T o turn this featur e OFF , see page 34.
19 – ENGLISH 2. Adjust your volume by using the volume control V - or V+ located on right side of the phone. 3. T o end the call, press the Speak er k ey again on the base. Using a Headset or Neckloop (see page 20) █ Making a Call Using the Handset 1.
20 – ENGLISH 5. T o change back from speakerphone to handset use, simpl y pick up the handset to disable the speakerphone. The speakerphone indicator turns OFF . 6. T o change back from handset to speak erphone, simpl y press the Speak er key and then hang up the handset .
21 – ENGLISH into the handset , lift the handset , listen f or dial tone and dial the number . Speak into the handset and adjust your volume. T o end the call, replace the handset to the base. 3. If you ar e using the 3.5mm Audio jack and w ant to speak into the speakerphone, pr ess the Speak er key , listen for dial tone and dial the number .
22 – ENGLISH █ MENU T o Access a MENU Option 1. T o display the menu list , press the Menu soft k ey . 2. T o scroll thr ough menu options, pr ess ▲ or ▼ repeatedl y . 3. T o selec t a menu item, Pr ess the Selec t soft key when the desired menu item appears on the display .
23 – ENGLISH █ Dialing Mode Setting Y our ClearSounds® CSC1000 comes from the f ac tory preset for touch-tone service. Should you need to change this setting based on the type of telephone service you have, use To n e f or touch-tone service or Pulse f or r otar y dialing.
24 – ENGLISH 5. Pr ess the Change soft k ey to set the keypad tones. Y ou can choose from ON, OFF and Link to Ringer . The Link to Ringer means that your keypad setting will match your ringer setting selec tion. 6. Pr ess the Save soft key to confirm.
25 – ENGLISH • When reviewing CID r ecords, the phone will announce the number . • When reviewing phonebook entries, the phone will announce the number or recor ded message. • When using the Redial func tion, the phone will announce the number or recor ded message.

27 – ENGLISH █ Inser ting Photos In Memor y Buttons 1. Cut your photo using the template provided as a guide. 2. Remove the tr ansparent cover of the memory key and inser t the photo and r eplace the cover or slide the photo in the top slot of the cover .
28 – ENGLISH Dialing from the Redial List 1. Pr ess the Redial key in standby mode. 2. Pr ess ▲ or ▼ repeatedl y until you find the number you want to dial. If you have the T alking Review Mode set to ON, the number for each r ecord will be announced as you scroll thr ough the Redial list .
29 – ENGLISH 4. Pr ess ▲ or ▼ to choose between ON/OFF to ac tiv ate/ deac tiv ate the call waiting func tion and then pr ess the Selec t soft k ey to confirm. 5. T o exit , pr ess the Back soft key to r eturn to the pr evious screen and then pr ess the Exit soft key to return to the main screen.

31 – ENGLISH If you have Caller ID service, the date and hour will be automatically set when you r eceive your first call. If you currentl y do not have Caller ID ser vice thr ough your phone company , please follow the dir ections below . Y ou can change the format of the time and date to your pr efer ence.
32 – ENGLISH Setting Time, Date and Day of the W eek 1. Pr ess the Menu soft key to display the main menu list . 2. Pr ess ▼ to move to Date and Time and then press the Selec t soft k ey . 3. Enter the curr ent time using the numeric keypad and use the ▲ to select AM/PM and then press the Save soft k ey .
33 – ENGLISH If you for get to connec t the phone line cord, “ No line ” will show on the screen. When you press the Menu soft k ey , the display will show the main menu. Use the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll thr ough the menu and selec t the desired one and then press the Select soft key to confirm.
34 – ENGLISH When a voice mail message is left , the screen will display “New voice mail” and the message will be saved as a call. If you have new messages, you will hear a stutter dial tone when you pick up the handset .
35 – ENGLISH █ Storing CID Recor ds Y our telephone’s Caller ID memor y stor es the data for the 30 most recent calls r eceived. When the 31 st call is received, the oldest Caller ID recor d (1 st call) is automatically deleted. Y ou may review the stor ed inf ormation at any time.
36 – ENGLISH █ Caller ID on Call W aiting When you subscribe to Call W aiting Caller ID ser vice fr om your local telephone provider , the telephone will display the Caller ID information of the second call while you ar e on the first call.
37 – ENGLISH Dialing a Number from the Caller List Use ▲ or ▼ to locate the desired r ecor d. If you need to change the dialing format (7 digits, 10 digits or 11 digits), simpl y press the * k ey until you see the desired f ormat of the number you would like to dial.
38 – ENGLISH and end the recor ding. Y our r ecor ding will immediately play back for your confirmation. Number Stor ed will appear . 5. T o exit , pr ess the Exit soft k ey once to return to the main screen. Otherwise, after 1 minute, the display will automatically r eturn to the main screen.
39 – ENGLISH T o T urn the Answering Machine ON/OFF 1. Pr ess the Menu soft key to display the main menu list . 2. Pr ess ▲ or ▼ to move to T AM setup and then press the Selec t soft k ey . 3. Pr ess the Selec t soft key to choose T AM ON/OFF . 4.
40 – ENGLISH 5. Pr ess ▼ to choose Record OGM and then pr ess the Selec t soft key . Speak clearly into the micr ophone, which is located below the Redial button. 6. The display will show Recor d OGM? . P r ess Ye s to confirm or press No to cancel.
41 – ENGLISH 5. The curr ent OGM will be played. During the pr ocess the display will show Playing OGM . Y ou can press the Exit soft key to stop and e xit . 6. If you do not lik e your message, recor d your message again or restor e it to the defaul t one.

45 – ENGLISH 1. Dial your telephone number from any touch tone telephone. 2. When the outgoing message star ts to play , you may enter the remote access mode by inputting the security ID. 3. After you enter the security ID, the system will play the menu of commands.
46 – ENGLISH Char ac ter Map T o enter a specific alphanumeric char ac ter , press the r elev ant key one or mor e times for the r equired char ac ter accor ding to the following table: once f or the first char ac ter , twice for the second and so on.
47 – ENGLISH 4. The display shows “ Record V oice ”. Pr ess the Ye s soft key to confirm or the No soft key to cancel. If you pr ess Ye s , you can star t to r ecord the name of this entry (up to 6 seconds). Y ou can also press the End soft k ey to confirm and end the recor ding.
48 – ENGLISH █ Viewing the Phonebook Entries 1. Pr ess the PhoneBk soft key to enter the phonebook. 2 . P r ess ▲ or ▼ repeatedl y until the desired entry is highlighted. 3. Pr ess the View soft key to view the details. 4. T o exit , press the Exit soft twice to r eturn to the main screen.
49 – ENGLISH • Edit : allows you to edit the selec ted entry . • Er ase: allows you to delete the selected entr y . Note: After editing the name, you need to press the ▼ to edit the number . █ VIP Setting This featur e allows you to assign one specific melody to everyone in your phonebook.
50 – ENGLISH TROUBLESHOO TING No dial tone 1. Check that all phone cord connections (including the curly cor d) and AC adapter are security plugged into the telephone and wall jack. 2. Check that the phone is in the correct dialing mode: tone or pulse (page 23).
51 – ENGLISH Can’t be heard by other party 1. Check that all phone cord connections are securel y plugged into the telephone and wall jack. 2. Mak e sure e xtension phones are on the hook at the same time you’r e using the phone. It is normal f or the volume to drop when additional e xtension phones are used at the same time.
