Managing Configuration Fi les Larger than NVRAM T o maintain a configuration file that exceeds the size o f NV RAM (512 KB), you must compress or relocate the configuration file. This section provides an example of each approach. For more information, refer to the Ci sco IOS Configuration Fundamentals Configuration Guide .
Step 5 Exit global configuration mode. Router(config)# end Step 6 When you finish chan ging the running c onfiguration, save the new configuration. Router# copy running-config startup-config As a result of this procedure, when you reboot the Cisco 10008 router , it loads the c onfiguration file that resides on Flash di sk 0.
10 Troubleshooting Installation Problems This section contains general troubleshooting informatio n to help you solve problems you might encou nter during the installation of the system.
Troubleshooting Ethernet Connections If an Ethernet connection to your Cisco 10008 router fail s to work properly , and the corresponding LINK LED is not on, check for the following probl ems: • .
Troubleshooting the Consol e Port Serial Connection If the terminal connected to the Cisco 10008 console port appear s frozen or fails to work properly , check for the following problems: • Check the console cable and make sure it is properly conn ected to the correct console po rt on the PRE, and to your equipment at the other end.
