TECHNO Cooker Hood.
1 User Manual for your Baumatic TECHNO Cooker Hood 90 cm Chimney Hood in Stainless Steel NOTE : This User Instruction Manual co ntains important information, including safety & installation p oints, which will enable you to get the most out of your appliance.

3 Congratulations on purchasing a Baumatic Cooker Hood! To fully enjoy using your app liance long into the future, please firstly familiarise yours elf with its specifications, safety advice and operational in structions included in this manual. You will also need this manual to ensure that your Cooker Hood has been installed properly.
4 o Any installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. o The hood must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions and all measurements followed.
5 o Ensure the ducting for the extractor function has the same diameter as the outlet hole all the way through. o Keep young children from using, playing with or tampering with the cooker hood. Older children and infirm persons should be supervised if they are using the cooker hood.
6 Note : Before discarding an old appliance, switch off and disconnect it from the power supp ly. Cut off and render any plug useless. Cut the cable off directly behind th e appliance to prevent misuse. This should be under taken by a competent person.
7 To use your cooker hood: 1) Make sure it has been properly installed. 2) Find the CONTROL PANEL. It is located centrally at the front of the canopy. 3) The CONTROL PANEL contains keys as shown in the Figure below. These perform separate functions. You will need to understand what the keys do before you attempt to use your cooker hood.
8 SPECIAL FUNCTIONS : Your Baumatic Cooker Hood also has advanced features. These are: a) Reminder to clean t he Metal Grease Filters After every 30 hours of use, your cooker hood’s microprocessor will alert you to clean the metal grease filters. It does this by showing a flashing ‘A’ on the display for 5 seconds .
9 IMPORTANT! : Before cleaning, always ensure that you have switched your cooker hood OFF at the omni-polar switch, set at the wall from t he cable: Cleaning  Clean the external p arts with mild liquid deterg ents on a damp cloth.  Never use abrasive powder, corrosive solvents or brushes.
10 First remove the grille by pu lling down on it. Undo the side catches. You can now clean the anti -grease filter grilles. 9 Soak them for about one hour in hot water with a grease-loosening detergent then rinse off thoroughly with hot water. 9 Repeat the process if needed .
11 a) Changing the light bulb 9 Before changing the light bulb, ensure th at the appliance is not live (i.e., ensure that you have switched it off so that it’s in the ‘0’ position). 9 Remove the metal anti-grease filters (se e Figure 2 below) and find the old bulb located in the light fixture up inside the exposed canopy.
12 _____________________________________________ ____________________________________ _____ Installing / Changing the Carbon Filter . Your Baumatic Cooker Hood uses a CARBON FILTER to purify the air for the air recirculation function. You will find that on e filter will attach to the fan motor’s top cavity (please see figu res at bottom of page).
13 Before installation and usage, read all the instructions and make sure that the voltage (V) and th e frequency ( Hz) indicated on the identif ication plate (found inside your Cooker Hood) and all the dat a inside the ap pliance are exactly the same as the voltage and frequency in your home.
14 : The cooker hood must not be fitted above stoves with a radiant top plate. : We recommend that at least two people install this hood. NOTE: Your Baumatic Cooker Hood shou ld only be fitted on a wall. Do NOT position it any less tha n 700 mm (70 cm) above the hob.
15 4) Work screws into the ho les until there is 10mm of screw still stuicking out. Affix the chimney to the wall by working its holes onto the screws.
16 6) Once you have latched the tongues into the slots , secure the hood to the fixed chimney through the screw holes. 7) Next, connect the spigot to the exhaust port of the chimney section. Ensure that your ducting has a di ameter of 150mm and that the cross section of the exhaust is 150 sq cm.
17 8) Then, take the decorati ve telescopic exterior section of the chimney and raise it so that its upper sect ion touches your ceiling. BE VERY CAREFUL AS YOU HANDLE THIS – THE EDGE S ARE EXTREMELY SHARP! 9) Take a pencil and mark out the po sition of the securing bracket (see above).
18 Installing the Intake Silencer STEP 1: Find the grease filter grille up inside the cooker hood & remove it. STEP 2: Turn the two fastening lu gs (top left and bottom right of figure on left) anticlockwise to open the plate. STEP 3: Affixing the sile ncer to the inside of the plate just removed, put it up inside the opening.
19 EXTRACTION OPERATION – Installation Instructions  Ensure that you have fitted the union (‘N’) to the upper part of the hood using the packaged t wo screws supplied inside the packing (Fig. 1 – on r ight). Using a 150 mm diameter pipe, connect the union (N) on the upper part of the hood (see Fig.
