9 Saf ety Precautions Ne v er plug the pr inter into a pow er sock et that is shared with other equipment (e xtension lead, double adapter , etc.). Ne v er use the pr inter if the pow er cord is bundled or knotted.
10 Saf ety Precautions ■ Maintaining the printer Do not attempt to disassemb le or modify the pr inter . There are no user ser viceable par ts inside the printer . The printer contains high-voltage components . Nev er attempt any maintenance procedure not described in this guide.
11 Saf ety Precautions ■ Choosing a location Do not install the printer in a location that is unstable or subject to e xcessiv e vibration. Do not install the printer in locations that are ver y humid or dusty , in direct sunlight, outdoors, or close to a heating source .
12 Saf ety Precautions ■ P ower supply Ne v er remov e the plug by pulling on the cord. Do not use an e xtension lead. If y ou do not intend to use the pr inter f or a long per iod of time , unplug the pr inter . Ne v er use a power supply v oltage other than that supplied in the countr y of purchase.
13 Saf ety Precautions ■ W orking around the pr inter Ne v er put your hands or fi ngers in the printer while it is pr inting. Do not place metal objects (paper clips, staples , etc.) or containers of fl ammable solv ents (alcohol, thinners. etc.) on top of the pr inter .

When to Replace Ink T ank and Maintain Pr int Head 71 Routine Maintenance When to Replace Ink T ank and Maintain Print Head When printing becomes faint or colours are incorrect, see if the print head nozzles are clogged and clean them fi rst. Follo w the procedures below and replace an ink tank if necessar y .
