Getting Started The proce dure for using the W i - Fi function to send im ages from a camera t o a computer is explained in the following four steps. Pr oceed in order from Step 1. IMPORTANT The po sition and shape of the o peration butt ons, screens displa yed, and setting ite ms may differ acco rding to the model you use.
Step 1 : Preparin g necess ary items 1. Check t he computer's require ments. The camera can c onnect vi a Wi - Fi to computers running t he following operating systems. • Window s: Windows 8 / 8.1, Window s 7 Service Pack 1 • Macintosh: Mac OS X 10.
Even i f your computer is connec ted to an access point, sending im ages from th e c amera t o the c omputer requires changing the compute r's settings .
2A - 2. Click [Camera Window] > [Wi - Fi connection s etup]..

Please pr oceed to Step 3: Conn ecting th e camer a to a computer. Step 3: Connecting the camera to the computer 1. Press the <Pla yback> ( ) but ton to turn t he camera on. 2. Press the <Wi - Fi> ( ) button. NOTE When sett ing up Wi - Fi for the first time, the ca mera nickname registrati on screen will be displayed.
Press the < > button to disp lay the keybo ard, and use it to enter a nickna me for t he camera 3. Press the < >< >< >< > but tons to choose ( ), and then press t he < > butto n.
4. Press the < >< > buttons to choose [Add a Devic e], and then press the < > button. NOTE Once a comp uter is added, the co mputer name will be displayed on t he screen in 4. To conne ct to a computer ag ain, simply ch oose th e co mputer na me fr om the li st.
5AConnecting to WPS-Compatible Access Points. 5A - 1. Pres s the < >< > butt ons to choose [WPS Connection], a nd then press the < > butto n. 5A - 2. Pres s the < >< > butt ons to choose [P BC Method], and the n press the < > butto n.
• The camera will connect t o the ac cess point. • A list of comput ers connec ted to the a ccess p oint will app ear in the [S elect a Devi ce] scr een. NOTE A WPS conn ecti on button is affi xed to y our acc ess poi nt (Wirel ess LAN , router, etc.
A screen like the one b elow will appear. If you are using Mac or Windows with the drivers installed, the screen will turn off after the connection is termi nated.
5B - 3. Press the < > button t o access the keyboard, a nd th en enter th e encr ypti on key, Ch oose [Next], and press the < > but ton. 5B - 4.
5B - 5. A list of de vices connected to the access poin t will appear on the screen. Press the < >< > buttons to choose the name of the compute r you want to connect to , and then press t he < > butto n. A screen like the one b elow will appear.
If you are using Mac or Windows with the drivers installed, the screen will turn off after the connection is termi nated. Please pro ceed to S tep 4: Sending images to a computer. For Windows users, when connecting your camera to your computer wirelessl y f or the first time, the display will not change during connection.
5C - 3. Press the < > button and ente r the SSID key on the displ ayed keyboa rd. Choose [N ext] and press t he < > butto n. 5C - 4. Cho ose the Security method/en crypti on method .
5C - 5. Press the < > button t o access the keyboard, a nd th en enter the encr ypti on key. Choose [Nex t], and th en press the < > button. 5C - 6. Pres s the < >< > butt ons to choos e [Auto], and then press the < > butto n.
5C - 7. When a d evice is found, a screen like the following will appear. Choose th e name of the c omputer you wan t to c onnect t o, and th en press the < > butto n.
If you are using Mac or Windows with the drivers installed, the screen will turn off after the connecti on is ter minated. Pleas e proceed t o Step 4: Sending images to a computer. For W in dows users, when connecting your camera to your computer wirelessly for the first time, the display will not change during connection.
7A-2. After driver installation is complete, and the camera and computer connection is enabled, the AutoPlay screen will be displayed. Nothing will be displa yed on th e camera scr een.
7B - 2. The cam eras icon will be displayed in the [Add a device] screen. Doubl e - click the ic on to begin driver installation. 7B - 3. When th e con nection between the ca mera an d the co mputer has be en esta blished , a screen like the following will appear.
Click [T ap to choose what happens w ith this device .] Nothing will be displayed on the cameras LCD panel. 7B - 4. Click [Downloads images fr om Canon camera].
Step 4: Sending images to the computer 1. The CameraWindow me nu window will be displaye d, so click [Import Images from Ca mera]. 2. A window like the one s hown below will appear, so click [Impo rt Untransf erred Images], [Select Im ages to Im port], or [Import All Images].
3. If you ch ose [ Select I mages to Impor t] in S tep 2, select th e imag es you want to import, an d then click [Impo rt] ( )..
4. The following window will ap pear, and the compute r will start to transfer images fr om the camera. 5. Click [OK]. NOTE • Click the ( ) butto n to close this wi ndow. A related ap plication ([Im ageBrowser EX] by default) will start automati cally and the imported ima ges are displayed.
