4 Limited warranty V entilation IMPORT ANT – The unit will become hot when in use. Do not stack multiple units on top of each other . Do no t place in an enclosed area such as a bookcase or in a cabinet without sufficient ventilation. Ensure that small objects do not fall thr ough any ventilation grille.
5 550C/650C azur Rear panel connections AC po wer socket Once you ha ve complet ed all connections to the amplifier , plug the A C power cable int o an appropriat e mains socket and turn the unit on. Y our compact disc play er is now ready f or use. Pow er On/Of f Switches the unit on and off.
6 Display functions Play Illuminated during disc pla yback. Pause Indicates that disc pla yback has been paused. Display Alpha-numeric characters which displa y playback inf ormation. On inser ting a disc, the CD play er will take a f ew seconds to read the T able of Cont ents (TOC) inf ormation from the disc.
Speaker A/B T oggles the speak er terminals on the rear panel t o output speaker A only , speak er B only , both speak ers A and B or no speaker output at all. The speak er indicators on the front panel of the amplifier sho w which speaker terminals are select ed.
8 Operating instructions Loading and unloading discs 1. Press the Open/Close butt on. 2. When the disc tra y has opened fully , place a disc carefully in the tray with the label side facing up. 3. T o close the disc tray , press the Open/Close button again.
10. Pressing during pla yback will tak e you back to the ‘Pr ogram Mode’ stage. Pressing again at this point deletes the pr ogram. Note: – During programmed pla yback, it is possible to use the ‘Remain’ function only to show the time remaining on the track pla ying.
10 Filter settings Sharp Roll-off The 550C and 650C both use the WM8 7 40 Digital to Analogue Converter (DA C) from W olfson Microelectr onics. The 550C uses one stereo D AC, whilst the 650C uses two D ACs in dual differential (i.e. one per channel, in an internally balanced mode).
