WARNING Do not place your BT Lyric 1100 in the bathroom or other humid areas. Handset range The handset reception range from the base is up to 300m outdoors and up to 50m indoors. Signal strength The symbol on your handset indicates when you are in range.
2. Plug the power adaptor into the mains wall socket and switch the power on. The green Power light on the base comes on. 3. Install the 2 x NiMH AAA batteries supplied. Then slide the battery compartment cover into place. 4. Charge the handset for at least 16 hours by placing the handset on the base.
Battery performance T o keep your batteries in the best condition, leave the handset off the base for a few hours at a time (after the initial 16 hour charge). Running the batteries right down at least once a week will help them last as long as possible.

Navigating the menus… Y our B T L yric 1100 handset uses a menu system which is easy to use. In most cases each menu leads to a list of options. Have a look at the menu map on the following page. When the handset is switched on and in standby, press Menu to open the main menu and use the and scroll buttons to highlight the menu you want.
Exit menu If you want to exit a menu or the phonebook, press and hold to return to the standby screen. T o return to the previous screen press and release .

Register handset to base Make sure the handset is close to the base. 1. At the base : Press and hold until you hear two beeps (after about 10 seconds). Release . 2. At the handset : Press , then scroll to Registration . Press . Display shows Base 1-4 .
5. Press again to confirm. Once de-registered, the handset display shows Not Sub . Register handset to a different make of base 1. At the base : Set the base in registration mode, see the base’s user guide. 2. At the handset : Press , then scroll to Registration .
Base identity number Follow these instructions to check the individual code number of the base. 1. Press then scroll down to Setup and press . 2. Scroll down to Base ID . Press to display the number. 3. Press and hold to return to standby. Select base If a handset it registered to more than one base, you can select which one it will use.

The Int icon will be displayed during an internal call. Use of additional handsets Making internal calls If you have more than one handset registered to the base, you can make internal calls between handsets. 1. Press and hold until Internal Call is displayed and enter the handset number (1–5) you want to call.
3-way conversation Y ou can talk to one external caller and another internal caller at the same time on your handset. 1. During an external call: Press and hold to put your caller on hold. 2. Enter the handset number you want. 3. When the handset answers, press and hold for about 3 seconds.
3. Press to confirm. The display shows Monitor Mode until you switch it off. T o use room monitor 1. Enter the handset number of the handset you have left in the room to be monitored.
Switchboard compatibility This product is intended for use within the UK for connection to public telephone network and compatible switchboards, which support tone dialling and timed break recall. If in doubt please consult your network service provider.
