Handset range The BT F reestyle 310 has a range of up to 300 metres outdoors when there is a clear line of sight between the base and handset.
2. Batteries will come inserted in the battery compar tment. Pull the plastic tag as instructed to activate the batteries. 3. Place the handset on the base to char ge for at least 16 hours. When the handset is fully charged, the battery icon on the display shows .
Battery per formance (continued) The charge capacity of rechar geable batteries will reduce with time as they wear out, giving the handset less talk/standby time. Eventually they will need to be replaced. New batteries ar e available from the B T Freestyle 310 Helpdesk on 0870 240 3962.

U sing the phone 14 BT F reestyle 310 – Issue 2 – Edition 01 – 08.01.06 – 7971 Call timer Y our handset will automatically time the duration of all external calls. The handset display shows the call duration both during and for a f ew seconds aft er your call.
Earpiece volume During a call, you can adjust the volume of the earpiece. 1. Pr ess or to increase or decr ease the volume. The display shows the volume level. Secrecy During a call, you can switch off the microphone so you can talk t o someone nearby without your caller hearing.
If the number is stored in the directory and a name/number match is found, the name will be displayed instead. Answer a call handsfree 1. When the phone rings, pr ess to answer your call and put your caller on the loudspeaker . Switch t o handsfree during a call 1.
Copy a number from the redial list to the directory 1. Pr ess . Scroll or through the redial list to the number you want to copy . 2. Pr ess Opt and scroll to Save to dir . Press OK . 3. Enter the name then pr ess Save . 4. Press to ret urn to standby .
The icon will be displayed while the keypad lock is ON. Keypad lock Y ou can lock the keypad so that it cannot be used accidentally while carr ying it around. T o lock the keypad 1. Press and hold . The display shows Keypad locked . T o unlock the keypad 1.
U sing the directory Y ou can store up to 100 entries in the dir ector y . Each entr y contains a name and number . Names can be up to 15 characters long and numbers up to 24 digits. S tor e an entr y 1. Pr ess to open the directory . 2. When storing the firs t entr y: The display shows Empty .
Edit an entry 1. Pr ess and scroll or to the entr y you want to edit. 2. Pr ess Opt , scroll to Edit entry and press OK . 3. Change the number , then press OK . 4. Change the name, then press Save . 5. Pr ess to ret urn to standby . Delete an entry 1.

SMS text messages 28 BT F reestyle 310 – Issue 2 – Edition 01 – 08.01.06 – 7971 SMS stands for Short Messaging Ser vice IMPORT ANT Y ou mus t subscribe to your Network Provider’ s Caller Display ser vice so that you can use SMS text messaging.
Send/save text messages 1. Pr ess Menu , scroll lef t to SMS messages menu and press OK. 2. Write message is highlighted. Press OK . 3. The display shows Enter message . Begin typing your message using the keypad. When you have finished pr ess OK . 4.

Press to exit the menu and return to standby at any time. to choose from: Send message Press OK to view the phone number , then either OK to send or Del to edit. Edit message Press OK t o edit the message and phone number . Delete message Press OK , then Ye s to confirm or No to cancel.
SMS Ser vice Centre numbers T o send and receive SMS text messages you need the telephone number of your Network’ s SMS Centre. If you accidentally delete the Send or Receive SMS Service Centre numbers you will need to r e-enter them in order f or your SMS Service to work.
Select a Send Ser vice Centre number If you have entered additional Service Centre numbers, you can choose which send Ser vice centre you want to use. Y our BT F reestyle 310 is pre-set t o send using Ser vice Centre 1 and receive using Service Centre 2.
