T urn off all power to heating and cooling equipment bef ore beginning installation. 2 Remove the e xisting thermostat cover fr om the wall plate. Leave wires attac hed. Consult instructions that came with existing thermostat as needed.
7 Remove e xisting wall plate. Note: During this process, mak e sure that the wires do not pull back into w all opening. Detach all wires from wall plate . a. Remov e all screws attaching the w all plate to the b. wall and remo ve w all plate. See “MERCUR Y NO TICE” to the right.
11 Install new wall plate. Pull wires through hole in center of wall plate . a. Locate the new w all plate ov er e xisting opening. b. Attach wall plate to w all using two screws pro vided. Do not overtighten. c. 24COM 24RC 24RH W1 W2/0 G Y1 Y2 8 Separate the face of the TZEMT400 thermostat from the wall plate.
5 12 Revie w the wiring chart information. Find the char t below that has your correct System T ype. a. On the char t, fi nd the Ther mostat Brand that matches your e xisting thermostat. b. Compare your Wire Labels to the chart and identify which ones you hav e (it ma y only ha ve some of the ones sho wn).
13 Attach all wires securel y to the new thermostat. Note: A wire must be connected to “24COM” to power the thermostat. Use the inf or mation from step 12 to match the wires to the correct terminals. a. Use 1/8” blade scre wdriver to secure wires in terminals.

21 Prepare the bridge for enr ollment. Unplug Ethernet and power cables from bridge. a. V erify that blue light is blinking. If blue light is solid, battery is dead. b. Install a quality 9 volt battery . c. T ake bridge to the location where the thermostat is mounted.
