Chapter 2 8 Acceptabl e paper and other med ia 2 The print quality can be affected by the type of p aper you are using in the machi ne. To ge t the be s t pri nt qua l ity for the settings you have chos en, always set the P aper Type to m atch the t ype of paper y ou lo ad.

Chapter 2 14 Lo adin g envel opes an d post car d s 2 Loading e nvelopes 2 Use envelopes that weigh from 7 5 to 95 gsm. Som e envelopes need margin settings to be set in the application.

Chapter 2 16 Pr intable area 2 The printable area depend s on the settings in the application you are using. The figures below show the unprintable areas on cut sheet paper and envel opes. The machi ne c an only print in the shade d area s when the B ord erl ess print f e at ure is av ai lable and turned on.

Chapter 3 20 Setting Day light Savings Time 3 You can set t he m achine to c hange automat icall y for d aylight savings time. I t will reset itself forward one hour in the Spring and backward one hour i n the Autumn . Make sure you have set t he co rr e ct date and time in the Date&Time s e tting.

Sending a fa x 29 5 Over sea s Mode 5 If you are having difficulty sending a fax overseas du e to possible interference on the telep hone l ine, we recommend that you tu r n on the Overseas m ode. After you send a fax using t hi s f eature, t he f eature will turn itself of f.
30 6 Rece ive mode s 6 You must choo s e a rec ei ve mode depending on the ex ternal devices an d telephone services you have on your line. Ch oosi ng t he R eceiv e Mo de 6 By defau lt, y our m achine will auto matical ly r eceive any faxes that a re se nt to it.

Chapter 6 32 Receive mode settings 6 Ring De lay 6 The Ring Delay sets the numbe r of times the machine rings before it answers in Fax Only or Fax/Tel m ode. If you have exte r n al or extension t el ephones on the same line as the machine, ch oose the m aximum num ber of rings.

It is a fast way to screen your calls. You can respond quickly to calls you missed, becau s e Caller IDs are received and stored in your machine memory.

However, wh en you ha v e an extern al TAD on the sam e telephone li ne as the mac hine, the TAD ans wers all calls and th e mac hine ‘listens ’ for f ax ca lling ( CNG) tones.
Telephon e and Exte r nal device s 45 7 Note W e recom mend beginning your OGM with an initial 5-second silence becaus e t he machin e cannot hear fax tones ove r a reson ant or loud voice. You may try omi t ting th i s pau s e, but if your m achine has trouble receiving , th en you m ust re-record th e OGM to incl ude i t .

This report lists the time and dat e of t ransmission and whether the tran smiss ion was succe ss ful (OK ).
