- 5 - 1. SELECT BLOWER OPTION AND INST ALLA TION TYPE 1.2 D UCTED I NST ALLA TION The Broan Elite E64000 Series range hood includes many configurations: hood with single or double internal blow ers (included with the hood), or hood using e xter nal blo wers.
- 6 - 2. PREP ARE THE INST ALLA TION Make sure that the f ollowing items are included: - Range hood - Accessories: • Baffle filters • Baffle filters handles (located inside the hood) • 3¼” x .
- 7 - 2. PREP ARE THE INST ALLA TION (CONT’D) Cut-out the openings f or duct ( A ) and power cab le ( B ), in cabinet or wall, according to the direction of discharge chosen.
- 8 - 4. REMOVE FIL T ERS AND GREASE DRIP RAIL A. Remov e tape on filters. Remov e filters from hood and set aside. NO TE: It is recommended to star t with the center one(s). B. Remov e tape on grease drip rail ( 1 ). Lift out grease drip rail and set aside.
- 9 - 6. CHOOSE THE OPENING(S) (INTERNAL BLOWER HOODS ONL Y) Remov e the knock out for the chosen opening(s) (horizontal at the bac k of the hood or vertical on top). See illustrations below . V ERTICAL DISCHARGE H ORIZONT AL DISCHARGE NO TE: F or ducted installation only .
- 10 - 7. HORIZONT AL DISCHARGE INST ALLA TION ( INTERNAL BLOWER(S) ONL Y) HD0271 Flip the blo wer and engage its flange in the back w all retaining brac ket. Using a 5/16” sock et and the screws pre viously remov ed, secure the blo wer to the hood.

Mar k the position of the scre ws (smaller par t of the ke y holes [ A ]) with a pen. Remov e the hood and install the (4) 1/2” doub le thread screws at marked positions , leaving a 1/8” gap.
- 12 - 13. INST ALL LIGHT BULBS This hood must use 120 V , 50 W , MR16 with GU10 base or P AR16 with GU10 base, shielded halogen lamps (not included). W ARNING In order to pre vent the risk of personal injury , do not install a lamp identified f or use only in enc losed fixtures.
- 13 - 15. USE AND CARE Baffle Filters The baffle filters should be cleaned frequently . Use a war m detergent solution. W ash more often if your cooking style generates greater grease—lik e fr ying foods or w ok cooking. Remov e baffle filters by pushing them to wards the back of hood and rotating filters do wnward.
