Unlike a general webcam, this camera series is a stand alone surveillance system that does not need to be connected to a computer.

- 6 - Hardware Reset CB-100A Series CB-500A Series The Res et Button can be used to reboot t he camera or restore it to factory default settings. If the camera experiences a problem, rebooting the camera may correct the p roblem. If the problem remains, plea se rest o re th e camera to f actory default set tings and rei nstall the software.

- 8 - Camera Connection W arning Hot – Please attach the bracket before using CB-500A S eries. Basic Connection 1. Connect the supplied power cable f rom the camera to a power outlet.
- 9 - Sof tware Inst allati on In this manual, "User" refers to whoever has access to the Network Camera, and "Administrator" refers to the person who c an configure the cam e ra and grant user access to the camera.
- 10 - 2. In the Install Shield W izard dialog box, click <Next> to continue. 3. Read the End-User Li cense Agreement and check the option “I accept the terms of the license agreement”.
- 11 - 4. Select either “Complete” setup or “Custom” setup to install the system. a. If COMPLETE SETUP is selected: i. A l l program features will be installed into the def aul t directory. Check the option “ Complete ” and then click <Next>.

- 15 - 5. T o launch EasyConfig or PC-NVR S tandard, sele ct the application and click < Finish >. W hen la unc h ing the PC-NVR program, please refer to the PC-NVR user manual.

- 18 - 2. Select eithe r “Simple Mode” or “Professional Mode” to o bta i n the camera’s IP settings. If “Si mple Mode” is selected, EasyConfig will set up the con nection automatically . If “Prof e ssional Mode” is selected, the user will need to configu re the IP set tings manually .
- 19 - 3. There may be many cameras in the local network. Dif ferentiate the camera s using their UPnP name. Double click on the camera f rom th e survey list to connect. 4. Enter the username and password of the ca mera. F or f irst time use, the default username and password are “ admin/admin .
- 20 - 5. For configuring the IP address settings, select either <Settings remain the same>, <Automatically obt ain an IP Address (DHCP )> or < Set I P Address confi g uration manually>. The DHCP setting is recommended. a. If <Set IP Address c onfiguration manually> is selected, the following pages will be displayed.
- 21 - 6. If the camera s upport s the EasyLink TM function , t he f ollowing page w ill be displayed. Otherwise, this page w ill not be shown. *If desired, click <Skip> to skip this setting.
- 22 - EasyLink TM is a unique Brickcom function which allows us ers to assign a unique EasyLink name to their networ k camera’ s IP address. There is no need to conf igure the router to op en up ports or remember ha rd -to-memorize IP addresses. W hen this f ea ture is enabled, users can log onto [uniqueEasyLinkname].
- 23 - 7. W hen the IP ad dr ess settings h ave been co nfigured , the screen will either display a successful or f a iled connection message. If the connection failed, e ither try again or quit the installation. a. If “DHCP IP address s ettings” w as selected, the failure p age wil l be displayed as below: b.
- 24 - c. I f the connection w as successful, the user will s ee the m essa ge: “Congratulations. The installation of the camera is complete.” W hen this window is displayed, click < PC-NVR >.
- 25 - Accessing the Network Camera Check Network Settings The ca mera can be co nnected e ither before or immedia tely after the softw ar e i nstallation. The Administrator should complete the n etwork se ttings on the configuration pa g e, including entering the c orre ct s u bnet mask a nd IP address of gat eway and D NS.
- 26 - Inst alling the Plug-In For t he initial access to t he camera in W indows, the web browser m ay prompt the administrator for permission to install a new plug-in for on Internet Explorer. Permission request depends on the Internet security set tings of the user ’s PC or notebook.
- 27 - Live V iew NOTE - ( *) T hese a re optional f eatures. Please refer to t he Product List f or the full list of optional features available for the product. Live Vie w is the default page that opens when accessing the camera. Live vi deo is displayed directly in the browser window .
- 28 - TCP - This prot o col guarantees th e complete delivery of streaming data and provides better video qualit y . The downside of using this pr otocol is that the qua lity of its re al-time effect is less than that of the UDP protocol. UDP - This protocol allows for more re a l-time a udio and video streams.

- 31 - Exposure Control Auto: The camera will automatically control exposure. Manual: Select this option to define the exposure manually Mirror and Flip Mirror - E n able to horizontally reflect the display of the live video. Flip - Enable to vertically reflect the display of t h e live video.
- 32 - Schedule – Select Schedule to schedule specific time periods for different profiles. Digital Inputs (Only available with models with a DI ter minal)- Select Digital Input to have the profile management controlled by an external sensor. Select profiles f rom the drop down menu.
- 33 - Stream 1 & Stream 2 Aspect Ratio – Select the width to height image aspect ratio. Video Codec - The Network Camera offers three choices of video codec standards for real-time viewing: H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG. Video Resolution - Select from the drop-down menu to choose the best resolution recording settings.
- 34 - RTP w ith Quantization Table He ader : Choose t his option to ex plicitly include JPE G quantization table in the RTP stream [RFC 2435, section 3.1.8]. HTTP Transport: If MJPEG is used f or Video Codec, HTTP Transport protocol must be enabled to remotely access the video stream.
- 35 - RTSP Server To utilize RTSP authentication, the user m ust f irst set a password f or the camera. R TSP (Real-Time Streaming Pro tocol) controls the delivery of streami ng media.
- 36 - Recording folder path - The destination f or saving th e recording video files. Click Browse to specify the saving path. Snapshot folder p ath - The destination f or saving the snapshot files. Click Browse to s pecify the saving path and select the format from the drop-down menu.
- 37 - Advanced Settings Camera Speaker – If the speaker is enabled, select the volume from the drop-down menu. Echo Cancellation Enabled - Enable to avoid an echo.

- 39 - Net w ork IP Settings This section explains h ow to configure a wired n etwo rk connection f or the camera. Th ere are several ways to setup the c amera over the Int ernet : ( 1) obtain an av ailable dynamic IP address assigned b y a DHCP server, ( 2) use a st atic IP, or use PPPoE (Point-to-point over Et hernet).
- 40 - 3. PPPoE (Point-to-point over Ethernet) : Use this mode if connecting to the Internet through a DSL Line. NOTE - To utilize this feature, it requires a n a ccount provid ed by an Internet Service Provide r. Enter the user name and password provided by the ISP.
- 41 - d. T he network came ra can now be acces sed over a 3 G network. T o access the vi deo feed through the internet, open a we b b row ser and enter the network camer a’ s IP address. A dialog win dow will pop up requesting a use rname and pa s sword.
- 42 - Click A pply to apply s e ttings or Cancel to cancel changes. DDNS (dynamic domain name service) DDNS links a domain name t o a n IP address, a llowing u s ers to e a sil y access their c amera e ven with a changing IP address.
- 43 - No-IP No-IP is a DD NS provider which offers DNS services, email, network monitoring and SSL certificates. Em ai l services include PO P3 em ail, o utbound S MT P e mail, backup mail serv ices and m ail reflection and f iltering. Refer to the No-IP website (www.

- 45 - Wireless These settings control h ow a Net wor k Camera interacts with a wireless n etwork. Users can identify the wireless network and enable wireless encryption.
- 46 - Security - E ncryption protects data transmitted over a wireless network. W i-Fi Prot e cted Access (WPA -Person a l/ W PA2-pe rsonal) and W ired Equivalent Priv acy (W EP) offer different levels of security for wireless communication.
- 47 - WEP - W ired Equivalent Privacy ( W EP) is a basi c encryption method w hic h transmits network broadcast messages using radio signals. It is no t as secure as WPA. Tx Key - Select a key from the drop-down menu. WEP Encryption - Se lect a l e vel of W EP encryption: 64 bits 10 he x digits or 128 bits 26 hex digits.
- 48 - WP A-Personal - WiFi Protected Acc ess ( W P A )-Personal Encryption - Supports t w o encryption methods with d yna mic encryption keys: T emporal Key Integrity Prot ocol (TKIP ) and Advanced Encr yp t ion S tandard (AES). Select the algorithm t yp e from the drop down menu: TKIP or AES.
- 49 - WP A2-Persona l - W iFi Protected Access (W P A2-Personal) Encryption - WPA2 supports AES encryption method with dynamic encryption keys. Shared Key - Enter the key shared between the Router and the se rver keys. Enter a password of 8-63 characters.
- 50 - Advanced Settings Network Mode - From the drop-down m enu, s elect the wireless standards running on the network. • If t here are W ireless-B, W irele ss-G and W ireless-N (2.4GHz) devices on t he network, use the default setting, BGN-Mixed .
- 51 - Wi-Fi Protected Setup Use this method if the client device has a Wi-Fi Protected Setup PIN number. 1. Enter the network name from the device in the field. 2. Click <Register> to start W PS . 3. Click “Enable” to enable the WPS Button.
- 52 - To enable HTTPS, users have to create and install a certificate. 1. Click “Continue to this website” to install. 2. Enter the User name and Password of the camera.
- 53 - 3. Click “Certificate Error” on the top right corner of the window to view the certificate. 4. Click “Install Certificate” and follow the steps to finish the installa tion.
- 54 - Event Event Settings W hen an event (such as unauthorized movement) occurs, the camera can b e scheduled to perform certain actions. An Event Type is a set of parameters that de fines these actions. This section describes how to configure the camera to perform certain actions when events occur.
- 55 - 2. Set Event Schedule to define when the event is activat e d by selecting f rom Alway s (24 hours), Schedule or Recurrence pattern. a. If Schedule is selected from the Event S chedule, the following page will be displayed: A Scheduled Event can be programmed for certain times and day.
- 56 - i. An event schedule can be pr ogrammed to rec ur at diff er ent t imes according to the us er’s needs. Select the d ays for the event schedule to occur. Select a start t ime and specify the duration. 3. Define wh at will tri gger an e vent t o occur by selecting an option f rom the Event drop-down list.
- 57 - a. W hen < Send to Email> is selected, the following page will be shown: i. Sender - Enter the email address of the sender. ii. Recipient - Enter the email address of the recipient. To enter multiple recipients, separate each using a comma.
- 58 - Motion Detection Motion c an be detected b y measuring changes in the sp eed or vector of an object or objects in the m onitored area. This sectio n explains how to conf igu re the Network C amera to enable motion detection. Detection Setting – Use this sett ing t o en able and define the motion detection windows.
- 59 - PIR(*) The PIR (Passive InfraRed) sensor measures infrared light radiating f ro m objects in its field of view. This can be used to detect a moving object, such as a p e rson, in dimly lit areas. Sensitivity – Adjust the sensitivity of the PIR Sensor from the d rop down menu.
- 60 - Notifications Use the tools in this section to specify what t y p e of notification will b e sent when an event occurs. The camera can send buff ered images to an FTP s e rver, Samba, Email, or HTTP.
- 61 - E-mail Settings Select “Primary E mail Server” o ption f ro m the Server Selection drop d own menu to send media files to an email server when an event is triggered. SMTP Server - Enter the server host name of the email server. SMTP Po rt - Enter the port n umber of the email server; by default, the SMTP port is set to 25.
- 62 - HTTP Settings Select this option to send the media files via an HTTP notification when an event is triggered. URL –Specify the URL to send HTTP requests . The URL is normally written as: http://ip_address/ notification.cgi?parameter ip_address – type the IP address or host name of the HTTP host.
- 63 - Video Clip This function is us ed to determine whe n video clips w ill be recorded and stored a f ter an event is triggered. Pre-alarm buffer - Images can be st ored internally on th e server f rom the time imm ed iately preceding the trigger. Enter the desired length of time.
- 64 - Audio Clip(*) Audio Recording – Audio clips can be recording and played when an event occurs. Click Brow s e to import a file from a local hard drive or network disk. Select the file and click Import. NOTE – The camera ca n only pl ay audio cli p s which are saved as .
- 65 - LED Light(*) Mode – Se lect “Keep active during event” or “Keep act ive f or ” a specific amou nt of time w hen an event is triggered. LED Con trol - The LED on the front o f the cam era ca n b e set to f lash at a con figurable interval when an event is tri ggered.
- 66 - System System Log Log – Set up the camera to record a system log when an event is triggered. This page displa ys the system’s log in ch ronological order. The system log is stored in the camera’s buffer area and will be overwritten when the buff er a rea is full.
- 67 - Remote Logging The user can configure the camera to se nd the system log f ile to a remote server a s a log backup. Click to enable remote log and enter the IP address of the remote server. Enter the port number of the remote server. Click A pply to apply s e ttings or Cancel to cancel changes.
- 68 - Device Information System Information – Displays the complete system information of the camera. Network Settings – Displays the complete network settings information of the came ra. Video/Audio Settings – Displays the complete vi deo/audio sett ings inf ormation of the camera.
- 69 - Wireless - Displays the complete wireless information of the camera. Client Information- Displays the R TSP Cli ent .Y ou will se e a list of R TSP clients with t he following information: IP Address and channel.
- 70 - Stora ge Management (*) S torage Management is used to view all the recorded files on the Micro-SD/SDHC card. Click Reload to refresh the list of recorded files. Click Remove to safely remove the Micro-SD/SDHC m emory c ard. Click Format to format the Micro-SD/SDHC memory card.
- 71 - Advanced Settings Automatic R ecycle (*) – E nable to automaticall y overwrite older f iles when t he available space r emaining on the Micro-SD/SDHC c ard is less t han 100MB. If the Automatic Rec ycle function is disabled, there must be at lea st 50MB hard drive space available for the camera to be able to record video files.

- 73 - Maintenance User Management This section explains how to enable password protection and create m u ltiple accounts. The administrator account name is “admin”, which is permanent and cannot be deleted. Click A dd to cr e ate an account. Enter the new user’s n ame, password and co nfirm password.
- 74 - ♦ Administrator - user has access to vi ew and change the Configuration page. Users w ith administrator privilege can change other user’s access rights and delete user accounts. Click Delete or Update to delete or modify a user’s account.
- 75 - Firmw a re Upgrade This f eatu re allows the u ser to upgrade the camera f irmware. It w ill take a f ew minutes to complete the process. NOTE - Do not power off the camera or camera during the upgrade. Upgrade - Click Browse… an d specif y the f irmware f ile.
- 76 - Reset to Default This s ection is used to r estore t h e camera to def au lt factory settings. Check the boxes to preserve the IP, W ireless, Date and Time, EasyLink, or L anguage settings. Click A ppl y to restore the camera to default factory settings.
