– 5 – What’ s in the Box • BT1/B T2 Speaker • Grille • Self-adhesive neoprene feet • Foam blocks • This Manual General Placement/ Location Tips Cabinet Placement If the BT speaker is going to be placed in a cabinet or in a confined location: • Maintain a minimum 3 / 4 -inch clearance on each side of the BT speaker .
– 6 – Music System Placement/ Location Tips F or optimum results in a music sy stem: • Place one speaker on each side of the listening area, equidistant from the listening area. •P osition the midrange/tweeter baffle using the guidelines listed on page 7.

– 8 – Installation Tips V ibration To av oid problems caused by vibration and to prevent scratching the finish, install the provided neoprene feet on the bottom of the speaker .
– 9 – Screen Compensation The Screen Compensation switch alters the response of the speaker to compensate for the absorption characteristics of a projection screen or thick grille cloth on a cab- inet. Depending on the thickness of the screen or cloth, this may or ma y not be needed.
– 10 – P ositioning and R otating the Midrange/Tw eeter (MT) Baffle 1. Position the speaker so the MT baffle is facing upw ard. 2. R emov e the four Phillips-head screws holding the MT baffle in place . 3. Gently tip the speaker on its side so that the MT baffle slides out.
– 11 – Wiring There are three basic wa ys to con- nect the BT speakers to y our receiv- er or amplifier . • Basic •B i-Wiring • Bi-Amplification Basic Hookup This method only requires one pair of speaker wires, run from the amplifier or receiver to the speaker .
– 12 – Bi-Amplification Bi-amplification requires using separate two-channel amplifiers , each dedicated to a speaker . Using more than one amplifier can enhance the dynamic performance of your s ystem.
– 13 – Front View Side View Foam Blocks Barrier Foam When placing a speaker inside of a cabinet, the performance can be optimized if the speaker's baf- fle is extended to the walls of the cabinet. We have pro vided foam blocks for filling in the area around the speaker in the cabinet.
– 14 – Grille Installation A metal grille has been provided for protecting the drivers if the speakers are to be used out in the open. If your B T1 or BT2 speaker is going to be used behind a grille cloth door or projection screen you do not need to use the grille .
– 15 – Listening Levels/ Power Handling The pow er recommendations for the speakers assume that you will operate the amplifier in a wa y that will not produce distortion. Even our rugged speakers can be dam- aged by an amplifier if it is produc- ing distortion.
