4 Using your headphones If you plan to use them f or noise reduction only , simply put on the headphones and turn on the power s witch, located on the right earcup. There are no cable connections required f or this use . To use the headphones for audio , fi rst notice the settings on the audio attenuator sho wn belo w .
5 Connecting to an audio source Y ou can use the headphones with a v ariety of audio sources: airline audio, a CD , D VD or MP3 pla yer , a per- sonal or laptop computer , or home stereo . The maximum input v oltage is 9 Vrms. To make the connection, insert the headphone plug into the jack on the audio source y ou will use.
6 Folding the earcups for storage QuietComf or t ® 2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling ® headphones f eature rotating earcups that fold fl at f or easy , conv enient storage . The y rotate in one direction only . Note: Incorrectly rotating the earcups can damage the headphones.
7 Battery replacement Although it v ar ies by usage , batter y lif e av erages 35 hours. With the headphones turned on, the batter y light indicator will fl ash when there are appro ximately 5 hours of batter y lif e remaining. When a replacement is needed, use 1 AAA alkaline batter y (IEC LR03).
8 Cleaning the headphones Scheduled cleaning is not required. How e ver , y ou can simply wipe the outside surf aces with a damp cloth, as needed. Also , be sure that the earcup por ts are clear and that no moisture is allow ed into the earcups .
9 Other needs These headphones are not engineered to meet the needs of pilots or to meet civil aviation authority standards f or aviation comm unications. F or that purpose, Bose offers the A viation Headset , which f eatures a microphone with the appropriate power and intelligibility f or transmission of fl ight inf or mation.
