English 1 About This Manual How This Manual is Organized Y ou can ge t the most out of your new oven by reading this manual from beginning to end. This way you will systematically ge t to k now your a ppliance and become familiar with its operation and features.
English 2 Safety Proper Inst allation and Maintenance Have the installer show you the location of the circuit breaker or fuse. Mark it for easy reference. This appliance must be proper ly installed and grou nded by a qualified technician. Connect only to a pr operly grounded outlet.
English 3 Use this appliance only for it s intended purpose as described in th is manual. For example, never use the appl iance for warm ing or heating the room. Ne ver use the appliance for storage. Always have a working smoke detector nea r the kitchen.
English 4 Always place oven racks in desired locati on while oven is cool. If a rack must be moved while oven is hot, do not let potholder cont act the heating elements. Always use dry potholders. Moist or damp potholders on hot surfaces may result in burns from steam.
English 5 Wipe out excessive spillage be fore self-cleaning the oven. Birds have very sensitive re spiratory systems . Keep pet bi rds out of the kitchen or other rooms where kitchen fume s could reach them. During self-clean, fumes are released that may be harmful to birds.
English 6 Getting S t arted Part s and Accessories Parts* * Picture shows double oven. Y our appliance may vary slightly . Cooling Fan The cooling fan runs during all cooking modes. The fan can be heard when it is running, and warm air may be felt as it is released from the oven vent.
English 7 Oven V ent The oven vent is located at the bottom of the unit. W arm air may be released from the vent before, during and af ter cooking. It is normal to see steam escaping fro m the vent, and condensation may collect in this area. This ar ea may be warm when the oven is in use.
English 8 Inserting Rack Flat Rack The rack is designed with a stop so it will stop before coming co mpletely out of the oven and not tilt. Inserting Flat Rack into Oven: Removing Fl at Rack from Ove n: 1. Grasp rack firmly on both sides and pull rack toward you.
English 9 Control* *This is a double oven control p anel. Y our control p anel may vary slightly . T ouchp ads: Y ou only have to press light ly on the touchpads to op erate them. The touchpads will not work if you press several of them at once, such as when cleanin g them.
English 10 Display Symbols* *All symbols are displayed on doub le ovens. Only the Fast Preheat Symbol and Probe Symbol appear on single ovens. Display: T wo lines appear in the display while settings are being made . The value that appears betwee n the lines can be adjusted.
English 1 1 Operation About the Appliance Y our new oven combines premium cooking result s and simple operation. The oven design has bee n optimized to impr ove he at distribution in the oven cavity . The result is even browni ng, shorter cook ing times and lo wer energy consumption.
English 12 4. Press V . " Clock "now appears be tween the two lines: 5. Use the Settings Dial to set the time. The desired time of day can be se lected by pressing am/pm . The clock is now set and st arts as so on as a differ ent menu item is selected using the arrows.
English 13 3. Use the Settings Dial to set the year . After two seconds, the month display will appear: 4. Use the Settings Dial to set the month. After two seconds, the day display will appear: 5. Use the Settings Dial to set the the day of the month.
English 14 2. T urn the Settings Dial to set the t emperature. 3. Press Start . Note: • The cooking mode can be changed at any tim e during operation. The temperature can be chang ed, if it stands between th e lines. • For double oven models, the particular oven m ust be selected befo re the temperature can be chang ed.
English 15 A beep sounds when the timer en ds. Press any touchp ad to clear the beep sound and timer . T o change a running time r , press Timer , set a new time, and confirm by pr essing Tim er again. T o cancel a timer , set it to zero. Press Time r twice to exit the timer menu.
English 16 S pecial Features The special features provide you with addition al conveni ences when cooking. Learn more ab out these special features in the following sections: •C o o k T i m e • End/S ta rt T ime •R e c i p e • Probe • Sabbath Mode Cook Time Use the Cook T ime feature to oper ate the cooking mode for a set period of time.
English 17 End Time/Start Time Use End T ime or S tart T ime to delay the start of a timed mode. Enter the desired time for the mode to end or start. The oven calculates the proper star t time or end time. It start s and stops automatically . T o set the End T ime: 1.
English 18 T o set the Start T ime: 1. Set the Cook T ime. 2. Press ( . The sta rt time appears between the lines: 3. T urn the Settings Dial to set the start time; for instance, 1 1:00 am: 4. Press Start . The oven enters delayed mode. Whe n the programmed time is reached, the oven automatically turns on and then of f again when done.
English 19 The following foods can be selecte d: *Insert food after preheat is finished . Note: • It is necessary to preheat for bake d goods, pie, and pizza. • When using an automatic prog ram, it is not necessary to preheat th e oven when roasting meat or p oultry .
English 20 T o set Recipe: 1. T urn the Cooking Mode Dial to Recipe . The " Recipe " me nu appears in the display with the category that was last selected; for instance, Cookies: 2. T urn the Settings Dial to select the desired category; f or inst ance, Tu r k e y : 3.
English 21 4. T urn the Settings Dial to select the desired progra m; for instance, Breast. 5. For prog rams that include weight , press ) and turn th e Settings Dial to set the weight. 6. If desired, th e Cook T ime can be cha nged now by pressing Cook T ime.
English 22 3. Set the cooking mode and temperatur e. " Probe " appears in the display: 4. Press ) . " Probe " appears betwee n the lines with the default tempe rature of 160 ºF (70 ºC): 5. T urn the Settings Dial to set the probe temperatur e.
English 23 Sabbath Mode The Sabbath Mode enab les those of particul ar faiths to use their ovens on the Sabbath. Sa bbath Mode must be activated in the Setu p first (default settin g = Y es). T o set Sabbath Mo de: 1. T urn the Cooking Mode Dial to Bake .
English 24 The following can be set: Menu item Description Default Clock with 12-hour or 24-hour displa y mode. 12-hou r Clock Sets the clock. Ye a r Month Day Sets the date. Beeps Setting of beep length fo r finished cook process, timer and e rror: Short (10 sec), Medium (2 min), Long (5 min).
English 25 Getting the Most Out of Y our Appliance General T ip s Pan Placement Baking result s are better if pans ar e placed in the center of the ove n. If baking more than one p an on a rack, allow at least 1 " to 1 ½" of air sp ace around the pan.
English 26 Bake The Bake mode can be used to prep are a va riety of food items, from p astries to casseroles. Refer to recipe or p ackage directions for oven temperature and bakin g time. Ti p s : • Preheat the oven if the recipe re commends it. • Baking time will vary with the size, shape and finish of the bakeware.
English 27 Ti p s : • Place food in shallow , uncovered p ans , such as cookie sh eet s without si des. • If baking more than one pan on a rack, allo w at least 1” to 1½” of air space around the p an. S tagger p ans so that o ne is not directly above the other ( see graphic below).
English 28 T rue Convection T rue Convection is well suited for cookin g individual serving-sized foods such as cookies and biscuits. It is also good for cooking on multiple racks (2 or 3) at the same time. Baking cookies is possible on 6 racks simult aneously .
English 29 True Convection Chart Pie Use Pie to cook fresh or frozen pies. Ti p s : • Baking times may slightly decrea se when using this mode. Check pies ear lier . • T o prevent over browning, the pie edge may need to be covered with foil or a pie ring.
English 30 Pie Chart Pizza Use the Pizza mode for fresh or frozen pizza. Ti p s : • For a crispy crust, place pizza directly on the rack. • For a softer crust, use a pizza pan. • When proofing dough, coat dough with olive oil and cove r bowl tightly with plastic wrap to prevent crust formation.
English 31 Roast Roast is best suited for large cut s of meat and poultry . Ti p s : • Use a high-sided broil p an, or cover dish with a lid or foil. • Add liquids, such as water , juice, wine, bouillon or stock for flavor and moisture. • Roasting bags are suit able for use in th is mode.
English 32 Convection Roast Chart *Roasting times are approximate and may vary depending on sh ape of the meat. **S tuffed turkey requires a dditional roasting time. Th e minimum safe temperature for stuf fing in poultry is 165 °F . Broil The Broil mode is best suited for cooking thin, tend er cuts of meat (1" or less), poultry and fish.
English 33 Ti p s : • Preheat oven 3–4 minu tes. Do not preheat for mo re than 5 minutes. • S teaks and chops should be at least ¾" thick. • Bru sh fish and poultry wit h butter or oil to prevent sticking. • Use the broil pan and grid includ ed with the oven.
English 34 Convection Broil Convection Broil mode is well suited fo r cooking thick, tender cuts of me at, poultry and fish. Convection Broil is not recommended for br owning breads, casseroles and other foods. Always use convecti on broil with the door closed.
English 35 S peed Convection S peed Convection is well suited for frozen convenience foods such as fish sticks and chicken nugget s. The benefit s of S peed Convection include: • Decrease in cook time since preheating is not necessary . • Crispy and evenly browned frozen foods.
English 36 Proof • Proofing is the rising of yeast dough. • The Proof mode temperature range is 85 ºF to 1 10 ºF . • The default temperature in the Proof mode is 100 ºF . • Loosely cover the bowl or pan and use any rack that accommoda tes the size of the container .
English 37 Dehydrate Use Dehydrate to dry and/or prese rve foods such as fruits, veget ables and herbs. This mode holds an optimum low temperatur e (100 ºF – 160 ºF) while circulating th e heated air to slowly remove moisture. The oven stays on for 48 hou rs before shutting off automatically .
English 38 V egetables Peppers Mushrooms T omatoes W ash and towel dry . Remove me mbrane of peppers, coarsely chopped about 1" pieces. W ash and towel dry . Cut off stem end. Cut in to 1/8" slices. W ash and towel dry . Cut thin slices, 1/8" thick, drain well.
English 39 Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning Self-Clean During Self-Clean , the oven is heated to a very high temperature. Soil is burned of f at this temperature. IMPORT ANT : Wipe out excessive spillage be fore self-cleaning the oven. IMPORT ANT : Do not clean part s or accessories in the Self-Clean oven.
English 40 Avoid These Cleaners Do not use commercia l oven cleaners such as Easy Off®. They may damage the oven finis h or part s. Never use scouring p ads or abrasive cleaners. Cleaning Guide Part Recommendations Flat Rack W ash with hot soapy water .
English 41 Maintenance Replacing an Oven Light Use only 40 W att light bulbs. T o change the bulb: Removing the Oven Door m W ARNING: • Make sure the appliance and lights are cool and powe r to the appliance has been turned of f before replacing the ligh t bulb(s).
English 42 T o remove the oven door: T o replace the oven door: 1. Be sure to read the above W ARNING before attempting to remove the d oor . 2. Open the door completely . 3. Flip levers on hinges toward you. 1. Close door carefully until it stops. It will be about half way closed.
English 43 Service Before Calling Service Troubleshooting Chart Oven Problem Possible Causes and Sugg ested Solutions Oven door is locked and will not open, even after coolin g. T urn the ove n off at the circuit breake r and wait five minu tes. T urn breaker back on.
