4 Description The Bogen Model ANS50 1 Ambient Noise Sensor is designed to electr onically adjust the level of a page announcement or background m usic in an ar ea of a building where ambient noise le vels are contin uously changing.
5 P anel Descriptions 1 . Aux Input - Mono summing, stereo , unbalanced RCA inputs on side panel. 2. AUX Le vel Contr ol - Contr ols the A UX input level f eed directl y to the output. 3. Unbalanced Input - High-impedance unbalanced RC A input on side panel.
6 Sensor Micr ophone Connections Sensor Microphone Wiring • The ANS50 1 requir es connection of at least one sensor microphone for operation. T o allow for better ambient noise sensing of large areas, up to 4 sensor microphones can be connected to a single ANS50 1 .
7 Operation Fr ont P anel Controls AUX Le vel Contr ol Controls the AUX input lev el, which is bussed directl y to the output. Aux signal bypasses gain riding. Relative Gain Contr ol Sets the relativ e amount of gain maintained above the ambient lev el.
8 Operation, cont. Connections Balanced Input High-impedance, electronicall y balanced, pluggable scre w terminal input. Signal gain responds to ambient noise changes. Unbalanced Input High-impedance unbalanced RCA input. Signal gain responds to ambient noise changes.
1 . Connect the background m usic sour ce to the ANS50 1 ’ s RC A Aux IN jacks. 2. Set the background m usic to the desir ed operating lev el using the AUX LEVEL contr ol.
1 . Set MODE Switch to "SET" mode. 2. Set RELA TIVE GAIN to the desir ed amount of sig- nal gain you w ould like the balanced/unbalanced input to ride ov er the ambient lev el. 3. Set MAX BOOST to limit the maxim um amount of signal gain for the whole system.
