Retrofit instructions: Installing a Sport Heated Steering Wheel, BM W X5 E39 2001 – 06 6 Rem ove the power steering stalk from the old column s witch There is a s mall plastic tab on the opposite side holding it in p lace. Simply li ft this tab gently and slide out the stalk.

Leave the glovebox in the p assenger f ootwell. There will be a couple of connectors on the bac k that can stay attached.
