TRACT OR REQUIREMENTS The tractor used to operate the mower must have the power capacity to lift, pull, and operate the Power T ake Off (P T O) at the mower ’s rated speed while traveling at a ground speed betwee n 2 and 5 MPH.

Front end weight is critical to mainta in steering control and to preven t the tracto r fr om rearing up while dr iving.

Using the 3-point hitch control lever , position the front of the mower with th e side skids 1” less off the ground than desired cut h eight.

Extend the tr actor ’s top 3-point link so that when lifting the mower , the front of the deck will raise 2 to 2½" befo re the tail wheel leaves the ground. This will allow the mower to follow the contour of une ven terrain.

OPERA TION Shorten the driveline profiles as follows : • Remove the driveline from the tractor . • Position the mower (Lift T ype - Raise and lower/ Pull T ype - T urn sharply) to the point with the shortest distance between the tractor PTO shaft and cutter gea rbox.

OPERA TION Do not mow , or drive the tractor into, material that is burning, or areas that re cently burnt and may contain ho t spots. Burning material, sparks, and coals could be thr own from the m ower to areas of vege tation that might ignite.

OPERA TION Before transporting th e tractor and mower , idle the tractor engine, disengag e the PT O and wait for all mower moving parts to come to a complete stop. Once all mower part s are completely stopped, raise the mower to transport height.

OPERA TION The SMV (Slow-Mo ving V ehicle) em blem is universal symbol used to alert drivers of the presence of equipment tra veling on roadways at a slow speed. SMV signs are a trian gular bright orange with reflective r ed trim for both easy day and night visibility .

Carefully ti ghten the secu ring chains or other fasteners used as much as possible using boomers or binders to apply ma ximum tension.
