The release panel opens. ➮ Gently insert the CD with the print- ed side uppermost into the drive until you feel some resistance.
10 ADJ U STI N G TH E VOLU M E Inst ant aneous volume reduct ion ( mut e) This feature allows you to instantane- ously reduce (mute) the volume to a lev- el preset by you. ➮ Briefly press button 1 . “ MUTE ” appears in the display . To restore the volume, ➮ press button 1 again.

12 RA D IO MOD E ➮ Press the MENU button 7 . ➮ Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until “ SENS HI ” or “ SENS LO ” appears in the display . “ SENS HI ” means that the tuner is highly sensitive. “ SENS LO ” means it is set to the lower sensitivity setting.

16 M P3 MO D E MP 3 mode Y ou can also use this car radio for play- ing CD-Rs and CD-R Ws containing MP3 music files. Preparing t he M P3- CD The various combinations of CD burn- ers, CD burning software and CD blanks may lead to problems arising with the ability to play certain CDs.

22 Tone and volume dist ribut ion set t ings Y ou can adjust the tone settings (bass and treble) separately for each source (radio, CD (MP3), CD changer or AUX and phone). Y ou can boost or cut the bass and tre- ble in ± seven steps. Y ou can select one of four possible cen- tre frequencies in order to further opti- mise the sound.

24 X- B A S S X-Bass means increased bass at low volumes. Y ou can set the X-Bass in steps rang- ing from OFF to three. Three means that the X-Bass boost is set to maximum and OFF means that X-Bass is switched of f. In addition, you can choose between a centre frequency of 50 Hz or 100 Hz.
