K eyCard Insert KeyCard When the KeyCard tongue is protrud- ing out of the unit, insert the KeyCard with the contact area facing up into the slot in the middle of the area.
28 Preset Scan Preset Scan cannot be started unless PTY has been switched off (“PTY” does not light up in the display). Press SC for approximately 1 second until you hear a beep. “SCAN” will alternate with the name or frequency of the scanned station in the display.

32 Switching the audio source Using the SRC button you can switch be- tween radio and tape operation. Tape operation is only available if a cassette is inserted.

34 Manual tuning: • Press << >>; the frequency will change in short intervals in downwards or up- wards direction. When holding the right or left part of the rock- er switch depressed, the frequency scan is speeded up.

Switching from stereo to mono Every time the radio is switched on, stereo playback is activated automatically. The unit will gradually switch to mono if re- ception is poor.

After the beep tone the display will show the programme type offered by the tuned in sta- tion.
38 - The system will switch to the linked NDR2 station for the duration of the “POP” programme. During tape operation, the set will also au- tomatically switch to the programme offer- ing the selected PTY within the broadcast- ing network. After the PTY programme the system will remain in the radio mode.

40 Adjusting the volume for traffic announcements and the beep tone This volume was preset at the factory, though you can alter the value using the DSC function (see “DSC programming, TA VOL”). If the volume level is altered while a mes- sage is being played, this will only affect the current announcement.
