2 Additional fea tures C omposing and sending messages W ith a RIM handheld with Interactive Messaging PLUS Service or BlackBerry handheld with XpressMail Service, you can send messages using a variety of services, set delivery confirmation for the current message , and send me ssages containing response lists.
Additional fea tures 3 If you are not in an area of sufficient wi reless cov erage, you d o not need to cancel sending your message. Y our handheld se nds the message automatically when y o u return to an area with sufficient wireless coverage.
4 Additional fea tures Setting message options Y ou can set the message options for all me ssages to specify how long they re main open before being marked as read. Y ou can also specify how messages should be deleted for each service that is activ ated on your handheld.
Additional fea tures 5 3. In the Subject field, type a subject and press the Enter key . T ype your message. 4. Click the trackwheel to vi ew the menu. Click Send . Y ou return to the Messages screen. A check mark appears beside the message within a short period of time to indicate that your message wa s transmitted success fully .

Additional fea tures 7 Sending an auto reply message Y ou can configure your handheld to send an auto reply message whenev er you receiv e a message. T o enable an auto reply message 1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Device Options screen appears.
8 Additional fea tures F or warding long messages Y ou can configure the handheld so that messages over a specific number of bytes are forw arded to another email addre ss. By default, the handheld is se t to receiv e complete messages of up to 1 6,000 bytes (approximately 16,000 characters).

10 Additional fea tures Depending on the gatew a y , y ou might receiv e a confirmation message indicating that your User Profile is upda ted. If y ou receive this confirmation message, the Handhel d Address field does not contain a v alue.
