13 2. Introduction 2.1 Overview The Portable USB Modem is a V.90 plug-and-play data/fax modem that transmits 56 kbps downstream and 33.6 kbps upstream. You can automatically configure it for operation in nearly any country’s phone system via the proprietary Global Wizard.
