IMPORT ANT SAFEGUARDS When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be fol- lowed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. ■ Use iron only for its intended use. ■ T o protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquid.
■ Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with or emptying of water and when not in use. ■ Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or plug or if the iron has been dropped or damaged.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS ■ T o avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit. ■ If an extension cord is necessary , a 10-ampere rated cord with a polarized plug and UL, CSA, or NOM approval should be used.

FULL ONE-YEAR WARRANTY Household Products, Inc. warrants this product against any defects that are due to faulty material or workmanship for a one-year period after the original date of consumer purchase. This warranty does not include damage to the product resulting from accident or misuse.

NOTE : Before first use, remove any labels or stickers, on the body or sole- plate of the iron. On first use only , iron over an old cotton cloth using steps 1 thru 5 below on setting 5 or above (and the SURGE button for models with that function) to remove any protective surface treatments.
3. Plug in the iron. For models with Automatic Shut-Off, push the ON button and a light will come on (B). For all models, move the T emperature Selector Dial to the appropriate setting for your fabric (C). Always stand the iron on its heel rest when powered on but not in use.
CAUTION: When unwrapping the cord for iron use, be sure there are no twists/kinks in the wire. Over time, twists may result in an electrical short. STEAM IRONING - SURE STEAM TM SYSTEM The Sure Steam™ System automatically produces steam when you turn the T emperature Selector Dial between settings 4 & 7 (C).
SPRA Y (Selected Models Only) Be sure the iron is filled with water . On first use, pump the SPRA Y button 10 times. Use SPRA Y to dampen tough wrinkles at any setting. (F) DRY IRONING T urn the T emperature Selector Dial to Setting 1, 2, or 3 (DRY) to iron without steam (G).
