3 ELECTRICAL CORD The cord length of this appliance was selected to reduce safety hazards that may occur with a longer cord. If more cord length is needed, an extension cord may be used. It should be rated not less than 15 amperes, 120 volts, and should have Underwriters Laboratories or appropriate agency listing.
4 HOW TO USE WARNING : Do not heat an empty Kettle! The concealed heating element in the bottom of the Kettle is protected by an automatic safety device. If your kettle is accidentally plugged in without being filled or is allowed to boil dry , it will automatically repeat a cycle of turning off, cooling down, and coming back on unless unplugged.
5 1. Before first use, rinse the interior of the Kettle. Fill the Kettle at a faucet. Y ou do not have to fill it all the way to the top if you just want to boil a small amount of water . However , the minimum amount you must fill it to prevent the safety thermostat from cutting it off is 2 cups.
6 For service, repair , or any questions regarding your appliance, call the “800” number on the cover of this book. Do NOT return the product to the place of purchase. Do NOT mail the product back to the manufacturer nor bring it to a service center .
