ENGLISH 1 Overview The STB-1001H is a set-top box that connects your televi sion to the Internet. Use the STB- 1001H to watch Internet television (IPTV) or Video on D emand (VOD) on you r regular TV . A : Y our STB-1001H. B : Y our Internet access device (such as a broadband router or modem).
ENGLISH 2 1 Make Hardware Connections T ake the following steps to set up your STB-1001H’s hardware connections. Use eithe r the cables that came with your STB-1001H, or those that came with your TV or Internet access device.
ENGLISH 3 The STB-1001H has a variety of options for connecting you r TV (and audio system). Use the hardware connectio ns best suited to your equipment; the fo llowing figure shows some examples. 2 T urn the STB-1001H On Once you have made the hardware connections , take the following step s to start up the STB-1001H.
ENGLISH 4 V If the or light s do not behave as expected, first check the STB- 1001H’s connections. Make sure that the powe r is on and the Intern et access device is working. If this does no t help, restart the STB-1001H (switch it off, then on using the ON /OFF switch on the rear panel).
ENGLISH 5 3.1 Remote Control Quick Reference The following picture shows your STB-1 001H’s remote control, and identifies the buttons you need to use in this Quick S tart Guide. See Remote Control Bu tton Reference on page 8 if you need more information.
ENGLISH 6 When the STB-1001H is ready to use, the Home menu displa ys. Use the HOME key on the remote control to return to this menu at any time. 1 Select the Live TV or VOD o ption (use the navigator ’s and keys, and the OK ke y). For Live TV , the channel selection menu displays.
ENGLISH 7 For VOD, the VOD menu appears. 2 For Live TV , highlight the channel you want to watch using the navigator ’s and keys. The small screen on the bottom righ t shows the current program. For VOD , hig hli ght th e video you wa nt to watch. 3 Press the OK key .
ENGLISH 8 5 Remote Control Button Reference The following figure shows the front of the STB- 1001H’s remote control, and identifies i ts buttons. The following table describes the re mote control’s button functions.
ENGLISH 9 V olume + / - T urns the sound fro m the STB-1001H up or down (you may also need to alter your TV’s volume). Mute T urn s the sound on or off. Replay / Channel Return When you are w atching pre-re corded video, use this to replay the last few second s.
ENGLISH 10 5.1 Entering Numbers, Letters and Symbols Use the alphanumeri c keypad ( 0 ~ 9 , # and * ) to enter numbers, letters and symbols. • Numeric Mode : T o enter numbers, ju st pr ess the keypad keys normally . • Alphanumeri c Mode : T o enter letters and symbols as well as numbers, press the KEYB (keyboard) key .
