6 GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE The following items of oven furn iture have been supplied with the appliance:- 1 grill pan 1 grill pan handle 1 grill pan grid 1 shelf for grilling and top oven cooking 2 sh.
7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to can cel the 'Countdown', pre ss the Selector Control button unti l the 'Countdown' indicato r ( ) flashes and then the decrease control ( - ) until 0.00 shows in the displ ay as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TIMER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensu re the electricity supply is switched ON and that the correct time of day is displayed, e.g. 10.00am as Fig. 9. ii) Place food in the oven. iii) To set the length of cooking time, press th e Selector Control button until the 'Cook Time' ( ) indicator neon is illuminated.
11 THE DUAL GRILL WARNING – Accessible parts may become hot when the grill is in use. Keep children aw a y. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the full area of the grill can be use d, or for economy purposes, the ce ntre section only can be used when cooking smaller quantities of food.
12 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE The grill pan has a removable handle. To insert the handle, press the button on the handl e with the thumb and pivot slightly u pwards inserting the lip into the widest part of the b racket. Move the handle towards the left, lo wer into position and release the button.
13 • Preheat the grill on full se tting for a few minutes to seal meat or for toasting. Adju st the heat setting and the shelf positio n as necessary during cooking.
14 THE TOP OVEN The top oven is the smaller of th e two ovens. It is heated by elements in the t op oven and bottom of the oven. It is designed for cooking small er quantities of food. It gives especially good results if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet or sa voury flans or quich e.
15 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cooking gives b est results. If you require more than one le vel of cooking use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for the best heat distribution. To increase base browning simpl y lower the shelf po sition.

17 THE MAIN OVEN The fan oven is particularl y suitable for cooking large r quantities of food. The advantages of fan oven coo kin g are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly reaches its temperature so it is not usually necessary to preh eat the oven.
18 TO FIT THE MAIN OVEN SHELVES The shelves should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the frame and the forms towards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slide the shelf towards you unti l the shelf stop is rea ched. Tilt shelf up at the front so that the stops clear the side su pports.
19 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are i ntended as a guide only. It may be necessary to incre ase or decrease the temperatures by a further 10°C to suit individual p references and requireme nts. Note: Shelf positions are counted from the bottom of the oven.
20 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180 °C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 .
21 THERMAL GRILLING Thermal grilling in the main oven offers an alternative method of cooking food it ems no rmally associated with conventional grilling. Thermal grilling helps to minimise cooking smells in the kitchen and allo ws you to grill with the oven door closed.
22 HINTS AND TIPS • Prepare foods in the sa me way as for conventional grilling. Brush lean meats and fis h lightly with a little oil or butter to keep them moist during cookin g. • Most food should be plac ed on the grill pan grid in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.

The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the full area of the grill can be used or for economy purposes, the centre sectio n only can be used when cooking smaller quantities of food.
24 HINTS AND TIPS • Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. • Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thickne sses of food.
25 DEFROST FEATURE This function defrosts mo st foods faster than some conventional methods. It is p articularly suitable for delicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.g. cream filled gateaux, cakes co vered with icings or frostings, cheesecakes, biscuits , scones, etc.
26 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning always allo w the coo ling fan to cool the appliance do wn before switching off at the electricity supply . CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning materials on you r appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
27 CLEANING INSI DE THE OVENS The sides and back of the grill/top oven and main oven compartments are coat ed with a special Stayclean coating. They sh ould not be clea ned manually. The vitreous enam el main oven base and grill compartment base can be cle aned using normal oven cleaners with care.
28 TO REMOVE THE OUTER DOOR GLASS 1. Open the oven door slight ly to gain access to the two cross head scre ws on the top of the oven door. 2. Loosen the two screws usi ng a Pozidrive screwdriver. 3. Holding the door glass securely in place with on e hand remove the screws and washers with the other hand.
29 TO CLEAN THE INNER GLASS DOOR The inner glass door is no t removable. Clean using hot soapy water or Hob Brite and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasives as they may damage the glass or seal. CLEANING THE SHELVES, WIRE-WORK RUNNERS AND GRILL/OVEN FURNITURE All removable parts, except the grill pan handle can be washed in the dishwa sher.
30 SOMETHING NOT WORKING Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a Service Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a service call.

34 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNINGS • This appliance must be installed by a qualified electrician/competent person. Safety may be impaired if installation is not carried out in accordance w ith these instructions. • This appliance must be earthed.
35 CHOICE OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTION • There are three possi ble ways to connect yo ur appliance. In each case the appliance should be operated using at least 6mm 2 twin core and earth PVC insulated.

37 HOW TO FINISH UNPACKING • Place packed appliance next to the space in which it will be installed. • Remove the appliance packing except for bottom tray, which should be le ft in position until the appliance is ready to be fitted into its cabinet.
38 CONNECTING TO THE MAINS TERMINAL Warning: This appliance must be earthed. • We recommend you use a new length of 6mm 2 twin core and earthed cable to ensure you r safety. • Make connection as shown in Fig. 7 by proceeding as follows:- • Preform wires to the appropriate shap e to suit fitting into the mains terminal block.
39 FITTING INTO THE CABINET IMPORTANT: Ensure that the oven is switched off at the wall before any further work is carried out. • Using a tape measure esta blish the internal width of the cabinet. Refer to page 35 if greater than 565mm. • Position the appliance in front of th e cabinet.
