4 Y our New W ashing Machine i Y our new washing machine, fitted with the Zanussi “JET SYSTEM”, meets all modern needs for ef fective treatment of laundry with low water , energy and detergent consumption.

6 The Contr ol Panel 1 “Memor y” buttons and corr esponding pilot lights A wash programme can be stored and recalled by pressing these buttons. T o store: select the required programme using the v arious buttons a v ailable (see section “Operating sequence”), then start the machine by pressing the ST AR T/P A USE button.
7 4 “TEMPERA TURE” button Press this button if you wish to set a dif ferent temperature from that suggested by the machine for the type of wash selected (see programme chart): the corresponding pilot light comes on. The COLD position is for a wash with cold water .
8 7 “Special Pr ogr ammes” button Pressing this button selects the follo wing options: - EXTRA RINSE: can be selected with all programmes except the wool programme. The machine carries out 4 rinses instead of 3. This option is recommended for people who are sensitiv e to detergents and in areas where the water is very soft.
9 10 ST AR T/P A USE button This button has three functions: a) Start After having selected the required wash programme, press this button to start the machine; the display stops flashing. b) Pause T o interrupt a programme which is running, press the ST AR T/P A USE button: the figures displayed will start to flash.
10 Operating Sequence Before your first w ash, we recommend that you run a cotton cycle at 60°C, without any laundry in the machine, to remov e any manuf acturing residue from the drum and tub . Pour 1/2 a measure of detergent into the dispenser drawer and start the machine.

12 11. Star t the pr ogr amme T o start the selected programme, press the ST AR T/P A USE button; the display stops flashing and the door pilot light comes on to indicate that the door locking device is engaged. The programme starts after about 30 seconds.

18 Maintenance and Cleaning Before any maintenance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNECT the appliance from the electricity supply . Descaling The water we normally use contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening po wder in the machine.
19 Cleaning the filter The water drain filter A clean filter is important for the correct functioning of the machine, and should therefore be cleaned after ev ery washing programme. Open the filter door and place a container underneath to catch any spillage.

24 Unpacking All transit bolts and packing must be removed before using the appliance. Before starting the machine up, the packing must be remov ed as follows. Y ou are advised to keep all the packaging for re-use in case the machine is to be transported again.
25 P ositioning Install the machine on a flat hard floor . Make sure that air circulation around the machine is not impeded by carpets, rugs etc. Check that the machine does not touch the wall or other kitchen units. Ne ver place cardboard, wood or similar materials under the machine to compensate for any une venness in the floor .
