4 Y our New W ashing Machine Y our new washing machine, fitted with the Zanussi “JET SYSTEM”, meets all modern requir ements for ef fective treatment of laundry with low water , energy and deter gent consumption.
5 Description of the Appliance 1 Detergent dispenser drawer 2 Control panel 3 Door locked light 4 Door opening handle 5 Filter 6 Adjustable feet Door lock ed light It stays on during the whole programme indicating that the door is locked. When the light goes out, the door can be opened (see pages 10-1 1).
1 ON/OFF button Press this button to switch the washing machine on. Press the ON/OFF button again to switch the machine off. 2 MAINS-ON light This light is connected to the ON/OFF button. It lights up when you press the button, and goes out when you press it again.
7 6 OPTIONS button Press this button to select the following options: • PREW ASH : select this option if you wish your laundry to be prewashed before the main wash ( not available for wool).
8 T o select Drain, press the SKIP button three times, the wash - rinses - spin LED,s go out. If you wish to cancel or advance the running programme to the required phase, P AUSE the cycle and then press the SKIP button as previously described.
9 Operating Sequence Before the first wash, we recommend that you run a cotton cycle at 60°C, without any laundry in the machine, to remove any manufacturing residue from the drum and tub. Pour 1/2 a measure of detergent into the main wash compartment of the dispenser drawer and start the machine.
10 10. Ho w to change a pr ogr amme during its cycle Before you make any change, you must pause the washing machine by pressing the ST AR T/P AUSE button. It is possible to change any phase before the programme carries it out. Changing the type of fabric or temperature is possible, obviously , only during the washing phase.
11 Pay attention to the level and temperature of the water in the washing machine! When you close the door and press the ON/OFF button again, the washing machine will resume the programme from the point where it had been interrupted.
12 W ashing Hints Do NOT overload the machine. W eigh the laundry the first few times you use the appliance. The average weights of the most common items are listed below as a guide: 1000g = 1 kg Shee.
13 And in which f orm? Not only are there different types of deter gent, but they are also available in different forms. Whether you chose a powder or liquid in traditional or compact form is your own personal choice. TRADITIONAL POWDERS Pour the powder directly into the dispenser drawer .
14 W ash Car e Symbols W ash care labels inside garments recommend how to launder your clothes with the best results. The care labelling code is in line with care labelling used in the rest of Europe. The symbols used make it easy to select the correct programme on your washing machine.
15 W ashing pr ogrammes The “coloured cotton programme” at 60°C with a wash load of 5 kg is the reference programme for the data entered in the energy label, in compliance with EEC 92/75 standards.
16 Maintenance and Cleaning Before any maintenance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNECT the appliance from the electricity supply . Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.
17 If the filter is blocked and the machine is unable to drain you will need to drain the water manually from the machine at this stage. T o do this, unhook the drain hose from the standpipe or sink and hold the end of the hose over a bowl on the floor .
18 Something Not W orking Certain problems ar e due to lack of simple maintenance or oversights, which can be solved easily without calling out an engineer . Before contacting your local Service Force Centr e, please carry out the checks listed below .
19 Symptom The door will not open Possible causes ● The water level is above the bottom edge of the door . ● The machine is heating the water . ● The drum is turning.

21 Installation Instructions T echnical Specifications It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way . Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
22 Unpacking All transit bolts and packing must be removed before using the appliance. Y ou are advised to keep all the packaging for re-use in case the machine is to be transported again. Using a spanner unscrew and remove the two rear bottom screws.
23 W a ter inlet Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thread. Do not use already employed hoses. Installation should comply with local water authority and building regulations’ requirements. The appliance must be connected to a cold water supply .
24 If you intend the drain hose to empty into a sink, make sure that the sink is empty and the plug hole is not blocked. Use the plastic “U-Piece” supplied.
25 Electrical connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. W ARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EAR THED. The manufacturer declines any liability should this safety measure not be observed.
