English- 17 CONTROLS 1. Motion Control Levers The mach ine ’s speed and dire cti on are contin uously var iable using t he two s teering contro ls. The steeri ng controls can be moved forwar d or backwar d about a n eutral posi tion. Furth ermore, the re is a neutral p osition, which i s locked if the stee ring contr ols are moved outw ard.
English- 18 CONTROLS 2. Parking Brake The parkin g brake is found on th e left of the machin e. Pull t he lever ba ckward to activa te the bra ke and forw ard to releas e it. T racking If the mower is no t tracki ng stra ight, check the air pressure i n both rea r tires.
English- 19 CONTROLS 5. Refueling Read the Sa fety Instruc tions befo re refueling. The ma chine ha s one f uel tank, just be hind the sea t. The tank vol ume is 5.4 gallons (20.4 li ters). The en gine will r un on a mi nimum of 8 5- octane u nleaded ga soline ( no oil m ix).
English- 20 CONTROLS 6. By p ass linkage When p ushin g or pul lin g the mow er , be sure to engage the IZT ( Integrade d Zeroturn T ransax le) by pass linkage s. The IZT bypass link ag e s ar e lo ca t e d on th e r ea r of t he fra m e, below the rear e ngine guard.
English- 21 CONTROLS 8. Hour Meter The ho ur meter di splays the total oper ating time. It will flash CHG O IL (Change Oil) at 50 ho ur interval s. The f lash durati on is one ho ur before and one hou r after the inter val. The CHG OIL icon will co me on a nd shut off automati cally .

Throttle Control The thr ottle co ntrol r egulates the engine speed a nd thereb y the rat e of rotation of the blades , assuming the bla de switch is pull ed out, see Eng aging t he Mowe r Deck. In orde r to inc rease or d ecrease the en gine speed , the co ntrol is mov ed fo rward o r backwar d respecti vely .
English- 23 CONTROLS 13. Cutting height pedal The cutti ng deck hei ght is obtained by pressin g the foot p edal lift arm forwa rd and releasi ng the tra nsport latc h. Then lowe r the deck t o the preset height. T o raise the deck push fo rward on the foot ped al lift arm unti l the tran sport l atch locks.

English- 26 OPERATION 4. Disengag e the mower blades b y depress ing the bl ade switc h. 5. Move the s teering co ntrols outw ard to the lock ed (outer) neutral pos ition.
English- 27 OPERATION 7. If the en gine is co ld, the choke c ontrol should b e pulled o ut to its e xtents. 8. Open the fuel shut off valve. 9. Press in and turn t he ignition k ey to the start pos ition.

English- 29 OPERATION T o start an engin e wit h a wea k battery If your battery is too weak to start the engine, it shou ld be recha rged. (See “Batter y” in “Main tenance” section ).
English- 30 OPERATION Running 1. Release the parking brake by moving the lever f orward. Y our mower is equip ped with an oper ator presence s ystem. When the en gine is running, any attem pt by the op erator to leave the seat w ithout first setting th e parking brak e will shut off the engine.
English- 31 OPERATION In order , for ex ample, to t urn right wh ile moving fo rward, mov e the right c ontrol towards the neutr al positi on. The r otation of the rig ht wheel is red uced and the machine turns to the right.
English- 32 OPERATION Mowing Tip s • Observe and flag r ocks and o ther fixed objects to avoi d collision s. • Begin wit h a hig h cutting hei ght and reduce it u ntil the de sired m owing resul t is attain ed. The ave rage lawn sh ould be c ut to 2½" (64 mm) during the c ool seaso n and over 3" (76 m m) during the hot mont hs.
English- 33 OPERATION Stopping the Engine Allow t he engine to idle a m inute in or der to attain norm al operatin g tempera ture before stoppi ng it, if it has been work ed hard. Avoid idling the engin e for longer periods, a s there is a ris k of the spark pl ugs fouli ng.
