7 MAGICSTOMP’ s Main Features [Harnessing the power of Y amaha’ s DSP technology] • The MA GICSTOMP utilizes a po werful 32-bit DSP designed by Y amaha to deliver amp simula- tions and effects from the DG series amplifiers and DG, A G, and UD-Stomp effects.

10 Connections CAUTION • In order to pre vent electric shock or damage to your equipment, turn OFF the power on the guitar amp, etc., and set the MA GICSTOMP’ s volume to its minimum level bef ore making any connections. • Only use the supplied A C-10 adaptor to power the unit.

12 ■ Tr y out some of the other patches The MAGICST OMP has a total of 198 patches. 99 of those are User P atches (U01 – U99) to which yo u can save (ov erwrite) data of patches that you hav e created. The other 99 are Preset Patches (P01 – P99) which can not be ov erwr itten with new data.
13 The other wa y to select patches is with the [Performance Mode] . In this mode, the –, +, and ON/OFF s witches are used to tur n three adjacent patches ON and OFF . q To enter the P erformance Mode, press and hold an y two switc hes (from –, +, and ON/OFF).
14 When the knob’ s position does not match the value f or the selected parameter, y ou’ll need to rotate the knob until it matches the position that corresponds to the parameter value before you can change the setting. Let’ s rotate the DRIV knob .
15 Create your own sound OK, now try and edit a patch to your liking. *P arameters for the patch(ef fect) can only be adjusted when the MAGICST OMP is in its nor mal operating mode (when a patch is selected and the effect is switc hed "ON").
16 ■ Storing edited patches (ST ORE) The MAGICST OMP lets you store y our original patches in its User Patch memory (U01-U99). After creating a patch you like, use the following procedure to store the patch. *P atc hes can not be stor ed in the Pr eset P atch memory (P01-P99).

To change the name of the patch, f ollow steps w through r described on page 18.
18 ■ Giving the patch a name (Name Edit Mode) Y ou can use up to 12 characters when making a name f or a User P atch. * Names of Preset P atches (P01-P99) can not be changed . q Press the [ST ORE] button. “PRESS[ST ORE]1sec” appears in the lower half of the displa y .

22 Editing Patches with a Computer In the CD-R OM that came with your MA GICSTOMP y ou’ll find some patch files ( library file f ormat ) that contain patches other than those found in the MA GICST OMP’ s Preset P atches (P01-P99).
