1 Introduction This guide provides the instructions you need to use W yse ® USB Firmware T ool t o convert the following Wyse R class thin clients to WES2009: •R 1 0 L • R50L • R50LE • R90L • R90LE • R90L7 Caution WES2009 firmware requires R class thin client s to have a minimum of 2 GB flash and 1 GB RAM.

4 Chapter 2 Procedures S tep 1: Remove the Rx0L Thin Client Left Side Cover Caution Follow all precautions listed in the Quick- S tart Guide that came with your thin client for disconne cting and reconnecting the thin client.
Installing Rx0L Flash and RAM 5 S tep 2: Install the Rx0L Flash Module Wa r n i n g Flash modules may be susceptible to da mage by Electro-S tatic Discharge (ESD).
6 Chapter 2 S tep 3: Install the Rx0L RAM Module Wa r n i n g RAM modules may be susceptible to damage by Electro-S ta tic Discharge (ESD). All industry-st andard cautions should be followed to avoid ESD.
3 Inst alling Rx0LE Flash and RAM This chapte r contains inform ation for u sers of Wyse Rx0LE thin clients who must install new flash and/or RAM. If you are installing fi rm ware only , you can skip this chapte r and proceed to"Installing WES2009 Firmware.

4 Inst alling WES2009 Firmware This chapter includes the requ irements and pr ocedures you need to inst all and use Wyse USB Firmware T ool to update your thin client to WES200 9 firmware. Tip The purpose of the Wyse USB Fir mware T ool is to configure a boot able USB key for device firmware.
14 Chapter 4 Procedures Complete the following procedures as an adm inistrator (administrator privileges are required). S tep 1: Copy the RX0L_LE 2G_4G WES2009 Conv ersion Image Folder to Y our Local .
