17 Connection English Connecting a mo nitor If you want t o view your presentation close-up on a moni tor as well as on the scr een, you can connect the D-SU B OUT sig nal output socket on the projec tor to a n exter nal m onitor wit h a V GA o r V G A to DVI- A cable by following the instructions below .

19 Connection English Connecting a HDMI sourc e dev ice The project or pro vides a HDMI input so ck et that allows you to connect it to a HDMI source device like a DVD play er , a DT V tuner or a display .
20 Connection English Connecting a D VI-D sourc e device The project or pro vides a DVI-D input sock et that allows yo u to connect it to a DVI-D sour ce device lik e a DVD play er . DVI- D format is used to directl y carry a digital signal to a digital display without signal conv ersion.
21 Connection English Connecting a Component V ideo source device Examine your V ideo source device to determine if it has a set of unused Component Vid eo output sockets available: • If so , you can co ntinue with this procedur e. • If not, you will need to reassess which method you can use t o connect to the device.
22 Connection English Connecting an S-Video or a composite V ideo source device Examine your V ideo source device to determine if it has an unused S-Video or V ideo output socket available: • If it has both sock ets, use the S-V i deo output socket for connection as the S-Video terminal pro vides better picture quality than the Video te rminal.

30 Operation English Selectin g the a spect ratio The 'aspect ratio' is the r atio of the image width to th e image height. Mo st analog TV and co mputers are in 4:3 ratio, and digital TV and DVDs are usually in 16:9 ratio .

32 Operation English Setting the User 1/User 2 mode There ar e two user -definable modes if the current a vailabl e picture mod es are not suitable for y our need. Y ou can use one of the pictur e modes (ex cept the User 1/2 ) as a starting p oint and customize the settings.

Some functions are a vailable only when certain input signals are in use. The menu items are a vailable when the projector d etects at least one valid sig nal.

46 Maintenance English M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojec tor Y our project or needs little mainten ance. The only thing y ou n eed to do on a regular basis is to keep the lens clean . Nev er remov e an y par ts of the p rojector ex cept the lamp. Co ntact your dealer if othe r par ts need re placing.
47 Maintenance English Extending lamp life The projection lamp is a consumable it em that norma lly can last up to 2000-3000 hours with proper usage. T o keep the lamp life as long as possible, y ou can do the following settings via the OSD menus.
48 Maintenance English Re p la ci n g t h e l a m p • T o reduce the risk of electrica l shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the l amp. • T o reduce the risk of severe b urns, a llow the projector to cool for at least 45 m inutes before replacing the lamp.
49 Maintenance English 7. Lift the handle so that it stands up. U se the handle to slowly pull the lamp out of the projector . Pulling it too quickly may cause the lamp to break and scatter broken glass in th e projector . Do not place the lamp in loca tions where water might splash on it, ch ildren can reach it, or near flammable materials.
