® 6 S ETTING UP THE TX238 T RANSMITTER NOTICE: T HE RECHARGEABLE BA TTERIES ARE SHIPPED IN A DIS - CHARGED ST A TE . T HE BA TTERIES MUST BE CHARGED OVERNIGHT BEFORE USING THE S OUND P LUS ™ TV I NFRARED S YSTEM . The WIR TX238 T ransmitter may be placed on top of a TV or shelf.
® 7 TV Microphone If an RCA connection is unav ail- able, use the provided TV micro- phone to pickup the sound source directly from the TV loud speak- er as shown on right. TX238 TX238 T ransmitter (Rear View) S TEP 1: C ONNECT THE T RANSMITTER P OWER S UPPL Y Plug the Po wer Supply cord into the “DC 12V” jack 1 on the back of the TX238.
(HIGHEST A UDIO QU ALITY) Connect the RCA plugs from the TV or VCR audio output into the LEFT and RIGHT RCA jacks on the TX238 T ransmitter 3 . Next, slide the stereo/mono switch 2 on the TX238 Transmitter to the stereo “ ” position. Y our transmitter is now set for stereo operation.
® 9 S TEP 3 ( CONTINUED ): If an RCA connection is una v aila b le , use the provided TV MICR OPHONE 5 to pickup the desired sound source. Plug in the microphone into the Mic Jack on the rear of the TX238 T ransmitter 4 . Use the velcro strip supplied to attach the microphone near the loudspeaker 4 of your TV or stereo.
® 10 S ETTING UP THE RX237 R ECEIVER S TEP 1: I NST ALL THE R ECEIVER B A TTERIES Insert the rechargeable battery into the bottom of the RX237 Recei ver (see page 12). Place the receiv er into the charger cradle b uilt into the top of the TX238 T ransmitter and let charge o v ernight.
® 11 IMPOR T ANT : When you ar e done using the RX237, remember to UNPLUG the earphone, headphone, or neckloop from the recei ver’ s jack. The receiv er will not turn off until the earphone/headphone is r emoved fr om the unit.
