Introduction 12 Contr o lling y o ur smart devi ce with the remote contr ol (MX666+) When the projector pr ojects the content from your MHL compatible smart device, you can use the remote contr ol to control your smart device. T o enter the MHL mode, press and hold AUTO f or 3 seconds.

Introduction 14 Remote contr ol effective range The remote control m ust be held at an angle within 30 degr ees perpendicular to the projector's IR r emote control sensor(s) to function corre ctly . The distance between the remote contr ol and the sensor(s) should not exceed 8 meters (~ 26 feet).
Introduc tion 15 Replacing the remote contr ol batteries 1. T o open the battery cov er , turn the r emote control o ver to view its back, push on the finger grip on the cover and slide it up in the direction of the arrow as illustrated. The cover will slide off.
Positioning your project or 16 P ositioning y our projector Choosing a location Y our projector is designed to be installed in one of four possible in stallation loca tions: Y our room la yout or personal prefer ence will dictate which installation locatio n you select.
Positioning your project or 17 Obtaining a pr eferr ed pr ojected image size The distance from the pr ojector lens to the screen, the zoom setting, and the video format each factors in the p rojected image size.
Positioning your project or 18 MW665+ The screen aspect ratio is 16:10 and the pr oj ected picture is in a 16 :10 aspect ratio For example, if you are using an 120-inch scr een, the recommended pr ojection distance is 3608 mm and the vertical offset is 162 mm.
Connection 19 Connection When connecting a sig nal sour ce to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipment off bef ore making any connections. 2.
Connection 20 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external vide o ports when connected to a projector . Usually a ke y combo like FN + F3 or CR T/LCD key turns the extern al display on/off. Locate a function k ey labeled CR T/ LCD or a function key with a monitor symbol on th e notebook.
Connection 21 • If the selected video image is not displa yed after the pr ojector is turned on and the correct video source has been selected, check that the video source device is turned on and operatin g cor rectl y . Also check that the signal cables hav e been connected correctly .
Operat ion 22 Operation Star ting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the power cord into the pr ojector and into a powe r outlet. T urn on the power outlet switch (where fitted). Check that the PO WER in dicator light on t he projector lights orange after power has been applied.
Operation 23 Adjusting the pr ojected image Adjusting the pr ojection angle The projector is equipp ed with 1 quick-release adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster f o ot. These adjusters change the ima ge height and projection angle. T o adjust the projector: 1.
Operat ion 24 Corr ecting k eystone K eystoning ref ers to the situation w here the projected imag e is noticeabl y wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the pr o j ector is not perpendicular to the screen. T o corr ect this, you will need to manually corr ect it following ONE of these steps.
Operation 25 Using the menus The projector is equipp ed with On-Scr een Displa y (OSD) menus for making various adjustment s and settings. The OSD screenshots below are f or refe rence on l y , and may differ fr om the actual design. Below is the ov erview of the OSD menu.
Operat ion 26 Securing the pr ojector Using a security cable lock The projector has to be installed in a safe pl ace to prev ent theft. Otherwise , purchase a lock, such as the K e nsington lock, to secur e the pr ojector . Y ou can locate a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the pr ojector .
Operation 27 If you f orget the passw ord If the passw ord function is activated, y ou will be ask e d to enter the six-digit password e ver y time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong passw ord, the passw ord error message as pictur ed to the right displa ys lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT PA S S W O R D message follows.
Operat ion 28 Disabling the passw ord function T o disable passw ord protection, go back to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change Security Settings menu after opening the OSD menu system . Press MODE/ENTER. The messag e “INPUT P ASSW ORD” displays.
Operation 29 Changing Color Space In the unlik ely ev ent that you connect the pr ojecto r to a D VD play er via the projector’ s HDMI/MHL or HDMI input and the pr ojected picture displa ys wr ong colors, please change the color space to YUV . To d o t h i s : 1.

Operation 31 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inac tive ar eas and the white por tions are activ e areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image pr oportionally to fit the projector's nativ e resolution in its horizontal or vertical width.
Operat ion 32 Optimizing the image Using W all Color In the situation wher e you ar e pr ojecting on to a colored surface such as a painted w all which ma y not be white, the W all Color feature can help cor rect the pr ojected picture’ s colors to pre vent possible color difference betw een the sour ce and pr ojected pictures.

Operat ion 34 Setting a pr eferr ed color temperatur e T o set a pr eferr ed color temperature: 1. Highlight Color Temperature and select Wa rm , Normal or Cool by pr essing / on the projector or r emote control. 2. Press to highlight Color Temperature Fine Tuning an d press MODE/ ENTER .
Operation 35 Please ref er to the illustration to the right for how the colors relate to each other . For example, if you select Red and set its range at 0, only pur e red in the projected picture will be selected. Incr easing its range will include red close to yellow and r ed close to magenta.

Operation 37 Hiding the image In order to dra w the audience's full attention to the pr esenter , you can use ECO BLANK on the projector or r emote control to hide the screen image. When this function is activated with an audio input connected, the audio can still be heard.
Operat ion 38 symptoms. How ever , this is not to state that th is proj ector can operate under an y and all harsh or extreme conditions. Adjusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will ha ve an effect on the projector speak er(s). Be sure y ou hav e made a correct connect ion to the pr ojector audio input.
Operation 39 Using the teaching templates The pr ojector provides sev eral preset patterns for various teaching purposes . T o activate the pattern: 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the DISPLAY > Teaching Template and press / to select Blackboard or Whit eboard .
Operat ion 40 Pr esenting fr om a USB Reader This featur e allows you t o bro w se the image and document f iles stored on a USB flash drive connected to the pr ojector . It can elim inate the need for a computer sour ce . Suppor ted file formats: • A square box will displa y on the fi lename for unident ified ch aracters.
Operation 41 Shutting down the pr ojector 1. Press POWER or OFF and a conf irma tion message will displa y prompting you . If you don't respond in a f ew seconds, the message will disappear .

Operation 45 Note that the menu items ar e available when th e projector detects at least one valid signal. If there is no equipment connected to the pr ojector or no signal detected, limited menu items are accessible.

Operat ion 50 Function Description Remote Receiver Allows you to enable all the remote r ec eivers or one specific r emo te receiv er on the projector . Panel Key Lock Disables or enables all panel k ey functions except POWER on the projector and k eys on the r emote control.
Operation 51 Function Description Baud Rate Selects a baud rate that is identica l with y our computer’ s so that you can connect the projector us ing a suitable RS-232 cable and update or download the projector’ s firmware. This function is intended for qualified ser vice personnel.

Maintenance 53 Maintenance Car e of the projector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The on ly thing y ou need to do on a r egular basis is to keep th e lens and case clean. Nev er remove an y parts of the projector except the lamp . Contact your dealer if other parts need replacing.
Maintenance 54 Lamp information Getting to know the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the durati on (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer . T o obtain the lamp hour information: 1. Press MENU/EXIT and the n press / to highlig ht the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced menu.
Maintenance 55 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicat or lights up r ed or a message appears suggesting i t is time to replace the lamp , please install a new lamp or consult your dealer . An old lamp may cause a malfunction in the pr ojector and in some instances the lamp ma y explode.
Maintenance 56 Replacing the lamp • T o reduce the ri sk of electrical shock, alwa ys turn the projector off and disconnect the po wer cord before changing the l amp. • T o reduce the risk of sev e re burns, allow the pr ojector to cool for at least 45 minutes before r eplacing the lamp.
Maintenance 57 12. Connect the pow er and restart the pr ojector . Do not turn the power on with the lamp cover r emoved. 6. Use the handle to slow ly pull the lamp out of the projector . • Pulling it too quickly ma y cause the lamp to break and scatter brok en glass in the projector .
