Introductio n 17 Remote contr ol effective rang e Infra-Red (IR) r emote control sensor is located on the fr o n t and the rear of the projector . The remote control m ust be held at an angle within 30 degrees perpendicular to the pr ojector's IR remote contr ol sensor to function correctly .
Introduction 18 Replacing the remote contr ol batter y 1. T o open the battery cov er , turn the remote contr ol ove r to view its back, push on the finger grip on the cover and slide it up in the direction of the arrow as illustrated. The cover will slide off.

Positionin g your projector 20 Obtaining a pr eferr e d pr ojected image size The distance fr om the projector lens to the screen, the zoom setting (if a vailable), and the video format each factors in the projected image size.
Positioning your projector 21 MW727 The screen aspect ratio is 16:10 and the pr ojected picture is 16:10. There is 5% tolerance among these number s due to optical compon ent variations.

Operation 25 Operation Star ting up the pr ojector 1. Remove the lens cap . 2. Plug the powe r cord into the pr ojector and into a wall socket. T urn on the wall sock et switch (where f itted). Check that the PO WER indicator light on the projector lights orange after power has b een applied.
Operation 26 Adjusting the pr ojected image Adjusting the pr ojection angle The projector is equipp ed with 1 front adju ster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. These adjusters change the image height and proj ection angle. T o a djust the pr ojector : 1.
Operation 27 Corr ecting 2D K eystone 2D K eystone function enable s a wider projector installation area compa red to conv entional projectors with limited positioning in front of the scre en. T o correct this, y ou will need to manually correct it f ollowing one of these steps.

Operation 29 Using the menus The projector is equipp ed with On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menus for making various adjustment s and settings. Below is the ov er view of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set them to your familiar language first. 1.
Operation 30 Securing the pr ojector Using a security cable lock The projector has to be installed in a safe pl a ce to pr event theft. Otherwise, purchase a lock, such as a K ensington lock, to secure th e pr ojector . Y ou can locate a K e ns ington lock slot on the left side of the projector .
Operation 31 If y ou forget the pass wor d If the passwor d function is activat ed, y ou will be asked to enter the six-digit password e ver y time y ou turn on the projector .
Operation 32 Changing the passw ord 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the System Setup: Advanced > Security Settings > Cha nge password men u. 2. Press MODE/ENTER . The message 'INPUT CURRE NT P ASSW ORD' displa ys. 3. Enter the old passwo rd.
Operation 33 Switching input signal The projector can be connected to multiple de vices at the same time . How ever , it can only displa y one full screen at a time . Be sure the Quick Auto Search function in the Source menu i s On (which is the default of this projector) if y ou want the pr ojector to automatically sear ch for the signals.
Operation 34 Magnifying and sear ching for details If you need to find th e details o n the projected picture, magnify the pictur e . Use the direction ar row k eys for na vigating the picture. • Using the r emote control 1. Press Digital Zoom+/ - to displa y the Zoom bar .
Operation 35 About the aspect ratio In the pictures belo w , the black portions are in active ar eas and the white por tions ar e active areas. OSD menus can be displa yed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image proportionally to fit the pr ojector's native r esolution in its horizontal width.
Operation 36 Optimizing the image Using W a ll Color In the situation wher e you ar e projecting on to a color ed surface s uch as a painted wall which ma y not be white , the Wall Color f eature can help corr ect the projected pictur e’ s color to prev ent possible color difference betw een the source and pr ojected pictures.
Operation 37 Setting the User 1/User 2 mode There ar e two user -definable modes if the cur rent a vailable picture modes are not suitable for y our need. Y ou can use one of the pictur e modes (except the User 1 / Us er 2 ) as a starting point and customize the settings.
Operation 38 Selecting a Color Temperature The options available for color temperature* settings vary according to the signal type selected. 1. Cooler : mak es the image appear bluish white. 2. Normal: Maintains normal colorings for white. 3. Wa r m : Makes images appear reddish white.
Operation 39 2. Press MODE/ENTER and the 3D Color Mana gement page displa ys. 3. Highlight Primary color and press ◄ / ► to select a color fr om among Red, G r een, Blue, Cyan, Magenta and Y ellow . 4. Press ▼ to highlight Hue and press ◄ / ► to select its range.
Operation 40 Setting the pr esentation timer Presentation timer can indicate the pr esentati on time on the scr een t o help y ou achieve better time management when giving pr esen tations.
Operation 41 Remote paging operations Connect the pr ojector to your PC or notebook with a USB cable prior to using the paging function. See "Connection" on page 22 for details.
Operation 42 Locking contr ol k eys With the control k eys on the pr ojector locked, you can pr event y our projector settings from being chan ged accidentally (by children, for example). When the Pa ne l Key Lo c k is on, no control k eys on the projector will operate except PO WER .
Operation 43 Muting the sound T o tempora ril y turn off the sound, • Using the r emote control Press MUTE to temporarily turn off the sound. Wh ile the so und is off, the screen will displa y in the upper right corner of the scr een. T o restore the sound, press MU TE again.
Operation 44 Using the teaching templates The pr ojector provides several pr eset patterns for various teaching purposes. T o activate the pattern: 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the D isplay > T eaching T emplate and pr ess ▲ / ▼ to select Blackboard or Whiteboard .

Maintenance 59 Maintenance Car e of the pr ojector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The on ly thing y ou need to do on a regular basis is to keep th e lens clean. Nev er remov e an y par ts of the pr ojector except the lamp. Contact y our dealer if other parts need replacing.
Maintenance 60 Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the durati on (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer .
Maintenance 61 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicat or lights up red or a message a ppears suggesting it is time to replace the lamp , please install a ne w lam p or consult y our dealer . An old lamp ma y cause a malfunction in the pr ojector and in some instances the lam p ma y explode .
Maintenance 62 Replacing the lamp • If lamp replacement is performed while the projector is suspended upside-do wn from the ceiling, make su re that no one is underneath the lamp socket to av oid any possible injury or damage to the human ey es caused by fractured lamp .
