Connection 21 Connecting video sourc e dev ices Y ou need only connect the project or to a video sour ce device using j ust one of th e connecti ng methods, howev er each pro v ides a differ ent level of video quality .
Connection 22 Connecting a DVI-D device Y ou should use a DVI -D cable when making co nnection between th e projecto r and DVI-D device. T o con nec t t he proj ec tor to a DVI- D d ev i ce: 1. T ake a D VI-D cable and c onnect one end to the D VI-D output port of the video dev ice.
Connection 23 Connecting an S-V ideo/Composite V ideo source dev ice Examine your v ideo source dev ice to determi ne if it has an unu sed S-Video/Video output jack avai lable: • If it has both jacks, use the S-V ideo output jack for connection as the S-V ideo terminal pro vides better picture quality than the V ideo terminal.
Operat ion 24 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the po wer cor d into the pr ojector and int o a power outlet. T urn on th e power outlet s witch (where fitted) . Check that the PO WER indicat or light on the projector lights orange after pow er has been applied.
Operation 25 If the frequency/resoluti on of the input signal exceeds the projector's operating ra nge, you will see the message “Out of Range” displayed on a bl ank screen. Please change to a n input signal which is compatible with the projector's resolution or set the input signal to a lo wer setting.
Operat ion 26 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is eq uipped with On-Scree n Display (O SD) menus fo r making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. The following example descr ibes how to set the OSD language. 1.
Operation 27 Securing the projecto r U sing a securit y cable loc k The pr ojector has to be installed in a safe place to prev ent theft. Otherwise, purc hase a lock, such as the K ensington l ock, to secure the projector. Y ou can locate a K ensington loc k slot on the rear side of the projector .
Operat ion 28 If y ou forget the passwor d If the password functio n is activated, you will be asked to ent er the six-digit passwor d every time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong password, the password error message as pictured to the r ight is displayed lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT P ASSW ORD message follows.
Operation 29 Disabling the passwor d function T o disable password pr otection, go back to the SYSTEM S ETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Power On Lock menu aft er opening the OSD menu system . Pr ess MODE/ ENTER. The message “INPUT P ASSW ORD” is displayed.
Operat ion 30 S w itching input signal The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one full screen at a time.

Operation 35 Adjusting Brilliant Color This feature utili zes a new color-processing algor ithm and system level enhancements to enable higher brightness while pro viding tr uer , more vibrant colors in pict ure.

Maintenance 54 M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojector Y our pr ojector needs l ittle mainte nance. The only thing you need to do o n a regular bas is is to keep the lens and case clean. Nev er remov e any parts of the project or ex cept the lamp . Contact y our dealer if other parts need re placing.

An old l amp may cause a malfunction in th e project or and in some i nstances the lamp may e xplode.
Maintenance 57 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
