2 REMO VE OLD THERMOST A T 1. Shut off electricity at the main fuse box until installation is complete. Ensure that electrical power is disconnected. 2. Remov e the front cov er of the old ther mostat. With wires still attached, remov e w all plate from the wall.

4 INST ALLER/CONFIGURA TION MENU The configuration menu allows you to set cer tain ther mostat operating characteristics to your system or personal requirements. T o enter the menu: Set y our thermostat switch to OFF . Press and hold the and buttons simultaneously f or appro ximately 5 seconds.
5 5) Select Backlight Display - The displa y bac klight impro ves displa y contrast in lo w lighting conditions. When the “C” terminal is connected, selecting backlight CdL On will keep the light on continuously . Select backlight OFF will tur n the light on momentarily when any ke y is pressed.
6 TR OUBLESHOO TING Reset Operation If a voltage spike or static discharge blanks out the display or causes erratic ther mostat operation, y ou may need to reset the ther mostat. T o reset, the System Switch must be in Cool, HEA T , or EMER . Sim ultaneously hold the and buttons f or approximately 10 seconds until the display goes blank.
7 ST A GING Second Stage - A uxiliary Heat Most heat pump systems hav e an A uxiliary or Second Stage electric heater or gas fur nace. Heat produced by a heat pump is economical but may not alwa ys hav e the capacity to maintain a comf or table room temperature setting.
