6 Figure 5 Final Adjustments Auger C ontrol Adjust ment Check the ad justm ent of the auger control as follows: • Push for ward on the aug er con trol until the smal l rubber bumpe r cont acts the uppe r handle. T here should be s lack in the cable .

8 Auger Dr ive Control The auger dr ive co ntrol is loc ated on the left handle. Squee ze the contr ol grip to en gage the au gers. Release to st op the snow thr owing acti on.
9 T o Start Engine NOTE: If unit shows any sign of mo tion (d rive or augers) with the cl utch g rips disen gaged, s hut eng ine off immedi ately. Re adjus t as ins tructed i n the Fi nal Adjust ments in the Asse mbly Sectio n. • Attach spar k plug wir e to spark plug .
10 NOTE: Use slower speeds i n higher s now and until you are familiar with the oper ation of th e snow throwe r. • Squeez e the traction c ontrol agai nst the right handle and th e snow thr ower will mov e. Release it and the driv e motio n will stop.
11 Shift Rod Adjustment To adjust the s hift rod , proceed as follows: • Remove the hairpin c lip and slide the shift rod conne ctor up, to se parat e the upper sh ift rod from the lower shift rod . See Figure 10. • Place the shift lever into the sixth (6 ) positio n.
12 Fig ure 11 Auger Shaf t At least once a s eason , remove the shear bolts on th e auger sha ft. Spray l ubrican t inside the shaft. Also lubric ate the pla stic auge r bearin gs at leas t once a season an d grease the fittings on the end of the aug er shaft with a st andar d grease gun .

15 NOTE: If t he sprock et fell from the snow thro wer while removi ng the h ex sh aft, pla ce the sprock et on the hex shaft. Positi on the hex hub of the sprocket toward the frictio n wheel wh en sl iding the spro cket on to the h ex shaft.
