Operation 21 5. Operation Star t up 1. P lug the power cord i nto t he p roje ctor and into a wall socket. T urn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Check tha t the Po w e r i n d i c a t o r on the projecto r lights orange after po wer has bee n applied.
Operat ion 22 If a PC input is selected and the resolution is not 800 x 600, you will see a Resoluti on Reminder as below . For a better picture quality , please change the PC’s resolution to 80 0 x 600 as requested.
Operation 23 iii. Press Down to canc el the passwor d set-up and return to the OSD menu. T o disable passw ord p rotectio n, go to the Setting > Pa s s wo r d menu after ope ning the OSD menu system.
Operat ion 24 S witching input sig nal The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one at a time. T o cycle through the available input sig nals: 1. Press SOUR CE on the project or or the remo te co nt rol to dis play a so urce selection bar .
Operation 25 T o retract the foot, hold up the projector wh ile pr essing the quick-r elease button , then slowly lower th e projec tor . S crew the rear adjuster fo ot in a reverse direc tion. If the screen and the projector are not perp endicular to each other , the projected picture becomes vertically trapezoidal.
Operat ion 26 Fine-tuning the picture clarity If needed, sharpen the picture by r otating the focus ring. If you are still not satisfied with the picture clari ty , see "Sharpness" on page 35 to make further adjustment. Selecting the aspec t ratio The 'aspect ratio' is the ratio of the picture wi dth to the picture height.
Operation 27 Optimizing the picture Selecting a pic ture mode The project or is pres et with several predefined picture m odes so that you can choose one to suit your o perating environment and inpu t source picture ty pe. T o select a picture mode that suits your need, you can f ollow one of the follo wing steps.
Operat ion 28 Vid eo input sources Video input sources are video (movie) based signal timings connected using the video cables Component Video (YPbPr), S-Video, or composite Video. V ideo input sources are active only when "YPbPr (Comp.)", "S-V ideo", or "Video" i s selected as the input source.
Operation 29 Adj us t in g Con t r as t The high er the value, the greater the contrast. Adjust this control so that wh ite areas of the picture appear bright and that detail in the white ar eas remains visible. U se this aft er you hav e previously adju sted the Brightness set t ing to suit your selected input and vi ewing environment.

Operat ion 32 Shutting down the projector 1. Press Po we r and a prompt message appea rs. Press Pow e r a second time to turn the project or off. 2. The P ower indicat or light flashes orange and the lamp shuts down, the fans continue to run for approximately 110 seconds to cool do wn the projector .
Operation 33 Me n u o p e r a t i o n M enu sy stem Please note th at the on-screen display (OS D ) menu s vary accord ing to the signal type selected. *Whe n a Vi deo or S-V ideo signal is c onnected, the function is only available with NTSC syst em selected.

Maintenance 42 Rep la c i n g th e l a m p • T o reduce the risk of electri cal shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the pr ojector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
