The remot e control must be held at an angle within 30 degrees perpendicular t o the projector's IR r emote control sensors to function correctly .

Positioning your project or 16 Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift contr ol pro vides flexibility for inst alling y our projecto r . It allows th e projector to be positioned off the center of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a percentag e of the projected imag e height or width.
Connection 17 Connection When connecting a signa l source to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipment o ff before m aking an y connectio ns. 2.
Connection 18 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projector. Usually a key combo li ke FN + F3 or CRT/LCD key turns the exter nal display on/off. Locate a function key labeled CRT/LCD or a function key wi th a monitor symbol on the notebook.

Connection 20 • Y ou mi ght get fe edback noise from the microphone w hen you are too close to the speaker of the projector. M ove the m icrophone awa y from the speak er of the pr ojector . The g reater volume you require, the g reater distance you need to b e away from the speaker to prevent the noise.
Operation 21 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the pow er cor d into the pr ojector and into a power outlet. T urn on th e power outlet s witch (where fitted) . Check that the PO WER indicat or light on the projector lights orange after pow er has been applied.
Operat ion 22 A d justing the project ed image A djusting the pr ojection angle The projector is equi pped 4 adjuster feet. T hese adjusters change the image heig ht and projection angle. T o adjust the pr ojector: Screw the r ear adjuster f eet to fine-tune the horizont al angle.
Operation 23 Correcting k e yst one K e ystonin g refers to the situation where the pr ojected image is notic eably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not p erpend icular to the screen.
Operat ion 24 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is eq uipped with On-Scree n Display (O SD) menus fo r making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. The following example descr ibes how to set the OSD language. 1.
Operation 25 Securing the projecto r U sing a securit y cable loc k The pr ojector has to be installed in a safe place to prev ent theft. Otherwise, purc hase a lock, such as the K ensington l ock, to secure the projector. Y ou can locate a K ensington loc k slot on the projector .
Operat ion 26 If y ou forget the passwor d If the password functio n is activated, you will be asked to ent er the six-digit passwor d every time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong password, the password error message as pictured to the r ight is displayed lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT P ASSW ORD message follows.
Operation 27 Disabling the passwor d function T o disable password pr otection, go back to the SYSTEM S ETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change Security Settings menu after opening the OSD menu system. Press MODE/ENTER. The mess age “INPUT P ASSW ORD” is displayed.
Operat ion 28 S w itching input signal The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one full screen at a time.
Operation 29 Magnifyi ng and searching for details If y ou need to find the details on th e project ed picture, magnify the picture . U se the directio n arrow k eys for na vigating the pictur e. • U si ng the rem ote con tro l 1. Press ZOOM+/ZOOM- to displa y the Zoom bar .
Operat ion 30 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inactive areas and the white portions are active areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image proportionally t o fit the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or v ertical w idth.
Operation 31 Optimizing the i mage Us i n g W a l l C o l o r In the situation where you ar e projecting onto a color ed surface such as a painted wall which may not be whit e, the W all Color featur e can help corr ect the projecte d picture ’ s colors to prev ent possible co lor differe nce between the source and project ed pictures.
Operat ion 32 8. The confirmation message “ Setting Sav ed ” is display ed. Fine-tuning the image quality in user modes Ac cording to the detected sig nal ty pe, there are some user-definable functi ons available when User 1 or User 2 is se lected.
Operation 33 In most installatio n situations, color mana gement will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where ligh ts remain on, or where building exte rnal windows allow da ylight into the room.

Setting the presentation timer Presentation timer can indicate the presentat i on time on the scr een to help y ou achieve better tim e management when giv ing presentations.
Operation 35 R emote paging operations Connect the pr ojector to your PC o r notebook with a USB cable prior to using the paging function. See "Connection" on page 17 for details.
Operat ion 36 Locking contr ol keys With the control keys on the projector locked, you can prevent your pr ojector settings from being cha nged accidentally (by chi ldren, for example). When the Panel Key Lo ck is on, no contr ol keys on the project or w ill operate e xc ept POWER .

Operat ion 46 10. T o hav e acces s to the A dmin page, y ou need to enter a passw ord. The page provides more netw ork settings. The default password is “0000” . If you want to c hange the password, enter th e Basic p age. The Basic page allo ws you to change the passw ord and set the maxim um number of connected computers.
Operation 47 The W ired LAN page allows y ou to adjust the Wir ed LAN settings. The W ireless LAN page allows you to adjust the Wireless LAN settings. The maximum length for SSID is 16 byt es. Please use different SSID when more than two projectors are connecting through w ireless LAN.
Operat ion 48 The Mail p age allows y ou to send alert e-mail to y our ITS administrator . Y ou can first try the Mail T est functi on to check if the Alert Mail works. 11. These quick buttons are always provided on the we b page for you to operate the projector .

Maintenance 69 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
