4 Location Requireme nts IMPORT ANT : Observe all governi ng codes and ordin ances. Check the locat ion where air conditi oner will be ins talled. Proper instal lati on is your resp onsi bility . Make sure you h ave e veryth ing nece ssary for cor rect installa tion.
5 Specifi c electri cal requirements are list ed in th e chart bel ow . Follo w the requ irement s for t he type of pl ug on the po wer su pply cord. R ecomm ended gr ound met hod For your personal s afety , this air conditioner mus t be grounded. This air condit ioner is equi pped wi th a power supply co rd having a groun ded 3 pron g plug.
6 Installing Air Condit ioner ■ Handle air cond itioner wi th care. ■ Be sure your air cond itioner cabi net does not fal l out of the opening during installation or r emoval. ■ Where the power cord exits the ai r conditio ner should be placed no more than 4 ft (1 22 cm) from a gr ounded 3 prong outlet.
7 Option 2 — Plaster wall with no molding If the pl astered wall is to be flush wi th the ca binet an d no mold ing is used, t he wood frame mus t be set ¹⁄ ₂ " (13 mm) into t he insi de wall. 1. Construct wood frame. See “ Loca tion Requ irements ” for dimen sions .
8 7. Repeat for right-han d curtain. 8. Insert f oam seal behi nd the top of the lower window sa sh and against the glas s of the upper window . 9. Place window-lock bracket on top of lower window and against upper win dow sash.
9 4. Install foam seal in the gap betw een ai r condition er base an d cabinet . Push fo am seal in at th e sides an d trim an y excess material. 5. Remove the 2 front panel s crews from air conditioner base. 6. Insert front t abs of front panel into top of cabinet and swing front into place.
10 1. Press POWER ON/OFF to tu rn on air conditioner . NOTE : When air condi tioner is tur ned on for the firs t time after i t is plugged i n, it will di splay th e default sett ings: Cool mode, T urbo fan speed, 72 ° F (22 ° C). When it i s turned on at all ot her time s, it will d ispla y the previ ous set tings.
11 T o clear Tim er delay progra m: NOTE : Air cond iti oner ca n be eith er on o r off. Press and hold TIMER ON/OFF for 3 seconds. In dicator l ight will shut off. T o see the r emaining time (in hours): 1. Press TIMER ON/OFF once after it has b een programmed.
12 Chang ing Air Direction Use the tabs to dir ect th e air ri ght or lef t (on some models). Rotate th e whole cartrid ge to direct air up, down or st raight ahead. Normal Soun ds When your air conditione r is operating norma lly , you may hear sounds s uch as: ■ Drople ts of water hitting the condenser , causing a pingi ng or clicking sound.
13 TR OUBLESHOOTING Y ou can solve many commo n air conditioner problems easily , saving you the cost of a servi ce call. T ry the suggestions below to see whether you can solve your pr oblem without outside help. Air conditioner will not operate. ■ The power supp ly cord is unplugged.

18 6. Tire de la manija p ara deslizar el acondiciona dor de aire fuera del gabinet e. Coloque el acon dicionador de aire sobre el cart ó n. NOT A: No lev ante , empuj e, ja le ni remueva ni ng ú n poliestir eno expandido (espuma) del i nterior del acondicionador de aire .

20 4. V erifi que que el gabi nete del acon dicionador de ai re est é inclinado hac ia afuera para que e l agua corra hacia el exterior . 5. Tire de la cortina iz quierda hacia afuera hast a que encaje en el canal d e la ventana.
21 Comple te la instalación NOT A: T rate el acondicion ador de aire con cuidado. 1. Aseg ú rese de que el extremo libre del alam bre a tierra est é fuera del gabin ete. 2. Inserte el acon dicionador de ai re en el gabinete. 3. Conecte el alamb re de puesta a tie rra verde a la base de l gabinete con el tor nill o de puesta a tierra.
22 CÓMO USAR SU ACONDICIONADOR DE AIRE Operar debida mente su acondi cionador de a ire le permite obtener los mejor es result ados posibles. Esta secc i ó n le exp lica c ó mo operar su acon dicionador de aire debi dame nte.
23 T emperatura Oprima la flecha hacia arriba p ara subir la temperatura. Cada vez que ust ed oprim a o sosti ene el bo t ó n la flech a hacia a rriba, la temperat ura su bir á 1 ° , hasta al canzar a 86 ° F (30 ° C). Oprima la flecha hacia abajo para baj ar la temperatura.
24 Para encender o ap agar el acond icionad or de aire: Oprima POWER (E nerg í a). Para seleccionar el mo do: Oprima el bot ó n A UTO COOL (Enf riamiento aut om á tico), COOL (Enfriam iento), F AN ONL Y (S ó lo ventil aci ó n) o POWE R SA VER (Ahorro de energ í a).
25 Cómo cambiar la dir ección del air e Use la leng ü etas para dirigir el aire hacia la derecha, o hacia la izqu ierda (en alguno s modelos). Gire el cartucho comp leto para dirigir el aire hacia arrib a, hacia abaj o o directamente hacia adelante .
