3 • Use an electrical o utlet that accommodates the pola rized plug on the appliance. On a polarized plug, one blade of the plug is wider than the other. If the plug does not fit full y into the outlet or extension cord, reverse t he plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
4 B EFORE U SING FOR T HE F IRST T IME 1. W ash the griddle and grease tray thoroughly in ho t soapy water with a dishcloth or sponge to remo ve any manufacturing oils. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Be sure temperature con trol socket is completely dried.
5 7. W hen the cooking pe riod is completed, set the temper ature control dial at “WARM” for late r serving, or set dial at “OFF” if food will b e served immediately. After the dial is set at “OFF,” disconnect cord from wall outlet. Le t the griddle cool before remo ving the temperature control and gre ase tray.
6 T EMPER ATURE G UIDE Allow the griddle t o preheat to the temperature shown, unl ess otherwise noted. The griddle has reache d desired temperature setting when the temperature control indicator light goes o ff.
7 FOOD SETTING COMMENTS PANCAKES 350 ° F Add 2 Tbsp. melted b utter or cooking oil to package mi x batter. Bake until bubbles appear, turn and b rown other side (about 1 minute per side ). POTATOES (fried) 350 ° F Slice or shred raw or parboiled potatoes.
